This literature review explores five published articles focused on the promotion of self- determination of students with severe cognitive disabilities. The purpose of this literature review is to better understand the details of the interventions designed to support students with the most severe cognitive disabilities. Within this framework, data was collected to examine participants, settings, implementers, and results. All five studies reported positive outcomes for all students in the promotion of self-determination.

The joking comments throughout the halls of elementary schools between teachers, “it is going to rain soon” or “a storm is brewing,” seemed to be just a hard day’s excuse. The purpose of this mixed methods study was to understand if there was accuracy in these joking comments. Beginning with quality classroom management and understanding student behaviors, this research examined educators’ perspectives on changing weather and the behavior of their students in their classrooms. Introduction: Children with a reading difficulty may be at risk of a learning problem in class, which could affect their mental health.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine an association between reading difficulty and anxiety depression among pupils at primary schools.

Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted in 1,154 pupils who are studying in Grade 2 at 8 primary schools in Pathum Thani province, Thailand. All pupils were assessed in their reading abilities by the Thai Reading Test, consisting of reading meaningful Thai words and 3 Thai short stories in allotted time. In schools across the country and world, students enter classrooms with rich diversity in backgrounds, identities, and experiences. They speak hundreds of different languages, come from countries around the world, espouse nuanced cultural and gender identities, and have an array of abilities and interests. But texts in school and classroom collections continue to reflect the so-called mainstream with primarily White, English-dominant, cis-gendered characters without disabilities.
