The Spanish-language anthology Caminos para la paz: Literatura israelí y árabe en castellano (Buenos Aires: Corregidor, 2007) [Paths towards/for Peace: Israeli and Arab literature in Castilian], compiled by Ignacio López-Calvo and Cristián Ricci, offers us a collection of over thirty reflections—some Jewish, others Muslim—about the millennial but also contemporary situation of two literally related and historic peoples in a language—Spanish—that seemingly allows them to inhabit the same, this time uncontested, space. This thesis examines the role of women in the theatre during the Spanish Golden Age. Special emphasis is made to women in plays written by Lope de Vega, Calderón and Tirso de Molina. An analysis is made on how women as the protagonists, are portrayed in terms of ingenio and honor. The role of women in the comedia is influenced by their adventurous, daring and manipulative personalities. Whereas women in tragic plas (such as those dealing with honor) are viewed as victims of a patriarchal society that imposes a rigorous code of honor. This thesis also includes a short, but …

Journal of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention
Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify website information related to hearing loss, hearing technology, and spoken language development available to Spanish-speaking parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH).
Design: An exploratory, descriptive design was used to determine the presence or absence of parent education information on a variety of websites.
Study Sample: The study explored Internet resources provided by national, state, and parent support organizations in the United States.

Sergio Peña is a certified interpreter in ASL, English, Spanish, and Mexican Sign Language (LSM). He is the co-author of Lo que hace a un interprete ser interprete. Técnicas y herramientas para los intérpretes de lenguas señadas y español [What makes an interpreter be an interpreter: Techniques and tools for interpreters working with signed language and Spanish].
