Digital Television Broadcast Adoption In Latin America, Deb Tech, Jack Walters

This paper proposes a model of the decision factors used by countries to decide which digital television (DTV) broadcast standard to adopt. The focus is on countries in Latin America that are in the midst of adopting and/or implementing new standards. This paper uses a multiple case study approach and independent inter-rater techniques to extract a set of decision factors used by four Latin American countries to select a digital broadcast television standard. Two decision factors expected by the researchers were confirmed. In addition, two additional decision factors were identified. This research is valuable in developing a deeper understanding of …
