A Study Of Evidences Related To Lds Church History As Reflected In Volumes I Through Xiii Of The Journal Of Discourses, Paul C. Richards
Theses and Dissertations
How much historical information pertaining to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is contained in the Journal of Discourses? How and where can it be found amid the nearly ten thousand pages of printed matter, much of which is non-historical? How accurate is the historical information in the Journal of Discourses? These three questions pose the problem that this study is designed to handle.

Early Israel As The Kingdom Of Yahweh, Albert E. Glock
Concordia Theological Monthly

Part One: Historical Perspective (Of The Chesapeake Bay), Kenneth Lasson
Part One: Historical Perspective (Of The Chesapeake Bay), Kenneth Lasson
All Faculty Scholarship
This study analyzes the legal problems in the development and management of Chesapeake Bay resources. There are threshold problems of definition - What is Chesapeake Bay? What are its resources? What role does law play in their development and management?
The "Historical Perspective" traces the political controversies that have involved the Bay since the colonies of Maryland and Virginia were first founded. In a rough sense, it defines the traditional resources of the Bay by isolating occasions when individuals, businesses and governmental bodies found themselves at cross-purposes as to how the Bay was to be used and shared.

The Social Views Of Dwight L. Moody And Their Relation To The Workingman Of 1860-1900, Myron Raymond Chartier
Fort Hays Studies Series
This evaluation is complicated for two basic reasons. The amount of subjectivity that enters into one's assessment always plagues any attempt on the part of the historian to be objective; however, it seems that religious phenomenon is even more difficult to evaluate honestly. This writer believes that he has no "axes to grind" in regard to Moody and the workingman. The record of history has been the primary interest.

Agriculture In The Fredericksburg Area, Harold J. Muddiman
Master's Theses
This paper is a study of agriculture and rural conditions in the Virginia counties of Caroline, Culpeper, Orange, Spotsylvania, and Stafford from 1800 to 1840. These counties are located in the north-central section of the state. The easternmost of the counties, Caroline, is located on the edge of the Tidewater section; Orange and Culpeper, in the Piedmont, extend to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The land is generally flat in the east, becomes more rolling as it approaches the mountains. Soils range from sandy loams in Caroline County to the sandy and clay loams with underlying crystalline rock …
