A Study Of The Contributions Of Andrew Jenson To The Writing And Preservation Of Lds Church History, Keith W. Perkins
Theses and Dissertations
Andrew Jenson, Assistant Church Historian, was one of the most prolific writers of LDS Church History. Born in Damgren, Denmark, he immigrated to Utah when he was fifteen years old. Because of his lack of training, his early life was spent in various manual labor occupations. None of these was satisfying to him; he longed for something better. He began compiling and writing Church history. In this he found much joy and happiness. His labors were soon recognized by the General Authorities of the LDS church, and he was permanently engaged as a historian in the Church historian's office. He …

In January, 1914, the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brought out the first issue of what was to become the Relief Society Magazine. Before this, the women of the Church had been served by the Women's Exponent, founded in 1872 as the second women's publication in the west. During 1914, the Exponent's successor was a monthly guide to the Relief Society's coursework, known as the Bulletin. In January, 1915, it became the Relief Society Magazine.
The magazine became a leader in the Relief Society work as a forum for idea …

Early Israel As The Kingdom Of Yahweh, Albert E. Glock

Hitler And Keitel: An Investigation Of The Influence Of Party Ideology On The High Command Of The Armed Forces In Germany Between 1939 And 1945, Helmut J. Schmeller
Fort Hays Studies Series
The eventual struggle between these two Weltanschauungen, National Socialism, and Marxism, needed to be translated into reality. The Program of the National Socialist German Worker's Party proposed in Point 22 the creation of a People's Army. After 1941 he intensified his attempts to make the Wehrmacht the tool of National Socialist ideology. It is the purpose of this study to trace Hitler's evolving program of using the military to accomplish his political ends.

The Mexican Punitive Expedition And The United States Army Aviation Section, Perry R. Nuhn
Student Work
The United States Army Signal Corps Aviation Section was a weak air service devoted primarily to experimental testing prior to World War I. In March 1916, President Woodrow Wilson ordered a punitive expedition into Mexico to capture the Mexican nationalist, Francisco (Panco) Villa. One of the organizations assigned to the expedition was the Frist Aero Squadron: The Signal Corps' only operational unit. This study examines the Mexican punitive expedition, preparedness for World War I, and the development of United States air power. It concludes that the Mexican punitive expedition was a critical point in the history of the United States …

The effect of teaching critical thinking as part of a continuous progress packet in American history was studied at Cedar High School during the 1969-70 school year. An experimental group using the critical thinking packet was compared with a control group that used a continuous progress packet that taught only American history.
The dependent variables for the study were the STEP (Sequential Test of Educational Progress), Social Studies portion, and the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal. No statistically significant differences were found between the groups in either American history or critical thinking.
Differences in critical thinking ability, though not significant statistically, …
