For at least the past ten years, eating disorders have had a major impact in the physical and mental health of women, particularly young women. Anorexia and bulimia nervosa are closely linked eating disorders. Anorexia often precedes bulimia. However, there are about 2 million women in college that have been exclusively bulimic. In this article, we focus on the role of college-peer pressure on the dynamics of anorexia-free bulimia. The model looks at bulimia as a progressive disease and explores the impact of intervention (treatment) at two stages of disease progression. Increasing Students’ Performance In English Within A Two-Way Bilingual Immersion Program, Jacquelyne Hoy

During the 2000-2001 school year, 30.76% of the 1st- through 3rd-grade students performed below grade level in the English reading comprehension test. Consequently, 35% of the students withdrew from Lycée Franco-American during the 2000-2001 school year because their parents feared that their children would not perform at or above grade level in English.

This writer conducted an initial analysis of the study in May of 2001, which revealed the following causes for the low performance in English reading comprehension: (a) teachers’ lack of training and experience in 2-way bilingual immersion programs, (b) the English program was too cumbersome and did …

This applied dissertation was designed to seek ways to improve the NCLEX-RN passage rate and to lower the attrition rate in a community college nursing program. The program had a significant problem because of the decrease in passage rate of the NCLEX-RN by graduating students and an increase in student attrition. Expost facto data were collected from 213 former nursing student records to compare the independent variables of preadmission test scores, academic prerequisites grades, demographic traits, HESI exit exam scores, and grades in the Nursing Skills Course to the completion of the nursing program and passage of the NCLEX-RN. This applied dissertation was designed to develop a plan at Concordia University Wisconsin to create a campus where racial and cultural diversity is valued. Concordia University Wisconsin is a Lutheran higher education community dedicated to integrating faith and learning. Concordia University Wisconsin lacks an inclusive environment where racial and cultural diversity is valued. Without valuing racial and cultural diversity, Concordia University Wisconsin cannot effectively represent the communities it serves, and it cannot meet the needs of all student populations.
