This project was undertaken because beginning teachers usually do not receive sufficient indepth training for working in team teaching situations. It is the intent of the writer to:

Lawyer Supply And Demand In Kentucky Over The Next Decade, Alvin L. Goldman Jan 1970

Lawyer Supply And Demand In Kentucky Over The Next Decade, Alvin L. Goldman

Law Faculty Scholarly Articles

Projecting future needs is a painstaking and hazardous affair. Avoiding such pain, however, is even more hazardous. There is good reason to attempt to project the next decade's need for, and potential supply of, new lawyers in Kentucky. Adequate legal services are an important ingredient in orderly economic growth and an essential element in preserving a free society. On the other hand, an over-abundance of lawyers can depress the economics of the profession to the point at which its ability to sustain desired standards of ethical conduct and to attract a high caliber of new talent are both threatened. Moreover, …

Due to the low economic area from which the subjects for this experiment were chosen, many were lacking in environmental experiences which contributed to their growth in reading skills and interests in the primary grades. The main purpose of this study was to compare and contrast improvement in reading interest and reading skills in matched groups of subjects of an experimental and a control group.

An Elementary Mathematics Curriculum Study To Determine If Achievement And Attitude Can Be Influenced By A Textbook Adoption, Elsie M. Railey

All Master's Theses

There is on the market a wide range of contemporary mathematics textbooks available. Textbooks approach mathematics differently and there is a variation in terms of the amount of time allocated to a topic, the development of elementary concepts and laws of arithmetic, and the amount of drill and repetition. The sequential development of the texts follows closely, but the scope and content differ significantly. Specifically, it is the purpose of this study to determine if there is a significant difference between series, as opposed to those in another mathematics series, in the variables of attitude and achievement. The two textbooks …

An Application Of A Revised Morrissett's Curriculum Analysis System To A High School English Program, Eldon Richard Loewe

All Master's Theses

The problem presented in this thesis is threefold. Taken together, these items present the bulk of work for any person attempting curriculum evaluation at the local level:

1. Meaningful evaluative information must be obtained. Instead of glib and generalized assumptions about what ought to be, one should achieve specific information relevant to the researcher as well as his departmental colleagues.

2. The information must relate to other studies so that a larger curriculum analysis will result. If the soundest method of national evaluation is to create concrete building blocks locally, these individual studies must mesh to provide something larger and …

A History Of The Events Leading To The Establishment Of The First State Normal School In America, Harold E. Ring Jan 1970

A History Of The Events Leading To The Establishment Of The First State Normal School In America, Harold E. Ring

All Master's Theses

During the decades of the 1820's and 1830's, educators in this country studied the European schools where the principles of Johann H. Pestalozzi (1746-1827), Friedrick Froebel (1782-1852), and Emanuel Fellenberg (1771-1844) had been put into practice with favorable results. The Prussian normal schools established by Frederick the Great were some of the best in the world. American educators came back with glowing reports of the progress Europeans were making in this direction. By 1838, due to the efforts of James Carter (1795-1849) and Horace Mann (179 6-1859), and because of the generosity of a Boston merchant, the Massachusetts legislature was …

A Descriptive Study Of Certain Characteristics In Which The Language Of A Class Of Third Grade Negro Children Differs From Standard English, Columbus Nelson Sanders

All Master's Theses

Children come to school speaking the language of their speech community. The purpose of this study is to describe certain characteristics in which the language of a class of third grade Negro children differs from standard English.

Duty Performance Of Vocational Guidance Counselors, Richard K. Swanson Jan 1970

Duty Performance Of Vocational Guidance Counselors, Richard K. Swanson

All Master's Theses

It appeared to the author from reviewing the proposed Washington State Standards that perhaps the "quality" and "guidance functions" recommended by the Panel and adopted by the Vocational Education Act, to be available to students, were not being met by the counselors qualifying under the variety of requirements available to Washington State counselors. More specifically, it appeared that counselors being certified under a particular set of requirements would tend to perform a particular stage of counseling more successfully due to the experiences required for certification. The problem as viewed by the author is that the variety of criteria available for …
