A Study Of Growth In The Southside Independent School District From 1949 To Present, Alice Luna Martinez
Theses & Dissertations
This study has been undertaken to show how the development of a school system, the Southside Independent School District, came about as a result of community needs and under the leadership of the administration, namely the superintendent. To give a full account of the district's growth, it is necessary to first trace the history of the community-one astoundingly rich in tradition, dating back to the days of the Spanish land grants.

The growth of Independent Study divisions of the state-supported educational institutions of the area covered by the states of Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming, and the increasing demands for the establishment of new curricular offerings, coupled with these states' limited financial resources, make the exploration of possible cooperative offerings a rather crucial necessity.
The purpose of this study was to develop and appraise the climate for developing a consortium of the Independent Study divisions of Utah State University, University of Utah, University of Nevada, University of Idaho, and University of Wyoming. A systematic sequence of approach for accomplishing the stated …

Student Work
Teachers are usually first to detect the inadequate performance of some children in reading, spelling, and writing. Many parents also recognize that something is wrong and desire to have the situation corrected. It is therefore the obligation of public schools to provide education for all children, and so it becomes the responsibility of school administrators and teachers to find and administer the necessary techniques to realistically meet a student's individual needs.

Statement of the problem. The central problem of this study was twofold: (1) to determine whether the educational research preparation offered by selected colleges and universities bore out the findings of critics, and (2) to synthesize and synergize opinions and facts regarding educational research, as expressed by men active in the field, into a flexible proposal whereby individual student's programs in research preparation could be "custom-made" to suit their most obvious research needs.
