An Analysis Of The Educational Rationale Supporting School District Reorganization, Gene L. Burton

Statistical data indicate that the total number of school districts in a state has no significant correlation with a state's total geographic area or population (6, 10). The absence of a significant correlation is most obvious when studying data relative to Nebraska's total geographic area, population, and number of existing public school districts.

An Analysis Of Parent Perceptions And Changes In The Oakland Community School District Between 1971 And 1976, Gary Funkhouser

Student Work

Community support of the school is related to the extent parents perceive that school programs are contributing to the aspirations they have for their children. Generally these aspirations have to do with developing a variety of skills and competencies. However, the parents' comprehension of the relationship between the school program and the success of their children is often generalized, if not elusive. To the extent it is elusive and vague, public trust and support may be jeopardized.

As evidenced by the phenomenal growth and development of the two-year colleges in the first half of this century (Goddard, 1962) many of our young people are looking at more vocational and technical education than ever before. This …
