Aurelius Augustine's-Use Or Discarding Of The Classical Methodology Of Education To Promote The Christian Faith, Gordon Beck
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
Thesis statement: It is the purpose of this paper to examine Augustine’s use or discarding of the classical methodology of education as found in his works de Ordine and de Doctrines Christiana.
Introduction: The tension in the early church between the Christian faith and pagan culture found a compromise in Augustine's declaration: "Every good and true Christian should understand that wherever he may find truth, it is the Lord's". This he declared in de Doctrines Christiana, 396.

A Comparison Of Active And Passive Recovery On Lactate Concentration And Subsequent Performance Of Repeated Work Bouts In University Ice Hockey Players, Michelle L. Lau
Student Work
This study examined the effect of active and passive recovery on lactate concentration and subsequent performance of repeated work bouts in IS male college ice hockey players. Using a repeated measure design, subjects performed a series of skating tests before and after a 15-minute recovery. The skating test consisted of skating a course for 7 shifts lasting 40 sec per shift with 90 sec rest between shifts. The recovery active (low intensity cycling) or passive (sitting) recovery lasted for 15 minutes followed by an identical seven shift skating test. Lactate was measured at rest, 3-5 min following the first skating …
The Impact Of Mentoring On The Academic Achievement Of At-Risk Youth, Lynn A. Thompson
The Impact Of Mentoring On The Academic Achievement Of At-Risk Youth, Lynn A. Thompson
Student Work
Since the late 1980's, planned mentoring programs have flourished as one possible solution to the problems affecting youth. Little research has been conducted evaluating mentoring programs in spite of the generally accepted belief that only positive effects can result from planned mentoring. This study examined the impact of mentoring on the academic achievement of at risk youth involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Midlands’ program. Individual academic achievement tests were administered to 12 boys in the treatment group (i.e., had a mentor) and 13 boys in the control group (i.e., on a waiting list to receive a mentor) …

Place A La Litterature Dans Le Cours De Conversation!, Corinne Etienne, Sylvie Vanbaelen
Scholarship and Professional Work - LAS
