Implementation And Effects Of A Conflict Resolution Program In A Urban Middle School, Deborah A. Frison

The primary purpose of this study was to identify and investigate possible effects of a conflict resolution program in an urban middle school. The secondary purpose was to examine the program ’s impact on students selected as conflict resolution managers. Citizen Participation In The Digital Age: An Evaluation Of The Potential Of A Website To Encourage Community Involvement In School Board Issues, Scott Chambers

MPA Major Research Papers

This paper examines the potential for school board websites to engage the public by promoting a greater understanding of school board issues and accepting feedback and recommendations from the local community. An analysis of school board websites in Ontario was conducted to measure the effectiveness of existing websites as a method for communication. The findings reveal that until school boards provide an incentive for citizens to visit their websites on a regular basis, they will not become a strong way to connect to the community.

Mobility, Flexibility And Accessibility Of Postsecondary Education In Hong Kong, Shui-Kin Chan Aug 2000

Mobility, Flexibility And Accessibility Of Postsecondary Education In Hong Kong, Shui-Kin Chan

International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) Conference

In its recent consultative document, the Education Commission recommended that, through portable and transferable credits, learners’ achievements attained through different channels are recognized. However, this paper argues that: · Increasing participation should not be viewed as equivalent to widening participation. · The distinction between continuing education and higher education becomes blurred. The paper concludes that the policy on lifelong learning seems to have been shaped by two factors economic and social equity. The development of these policies is part of a wider process of change – change in the higher education system, funding mechanisms, and university curricula.

It is because of her tenacious love of the performing arts that they flourish—albeit in some places more than others-for us today. Because of her, the imaginative lives of children and adults continues cyclically, each generation passing onto the next the rich experiences to be found in drama and storytelling.
