A Design For Advanced Preparation Of Educational Researchers. (Volumes I And Ii), Fon R. Belcher

Statement of the problem. The central problem of this study was twofold: (1) to determine whether the educational research preparation offered by selected colleges and universities bore out the findings of critics, and (2) to synthesize and synergize opinions and facts regarding educational research, as expressed by men active in the field, into a flexible proposal whereby individual student's programs in research preparation could be "custom-made" to suit their most obvious research needs. Aerospace And Environmental Education As An Interdisciplinary Curriculum In The Middle School, James Brooke Madill

This paper presents the union of aerospace and environmental education, and from their common ground draws a direct relationship with all subjects in the curriculum. This program was designed to demonstrate the feasibility of developing the middle school program around intrinsically interesting exploration in two fields of science which are of extreme importance in the world today. Following examples of possible connections with other areas in the curriculum a method of presentation is explored.

This paper presents a comparative study of differences in social maturity levels for urban and rural ninth grade students of East Valley High School in Moxee School District #90. The study was designed to test social maturity levels of both groups by administration of the Bell Adjustment Inventory. Evaluation of the results followed showing some significant differences.

Recommendations included additional trial testing and suggestions for some modification of existing guidance program and incorporation of the Inventory into the regular testing program.

Religious education in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as given by the seminaries is to help youth achieve a meaningful testimony that God lives, Jesus is the Christ, and Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. The purpose of this study was to determine why some youth were not taking advantage of this training by enrolling in seminary.
It was determined that the teachers were a negligible reason for lack of enrollment. Rather, the reasons stemmed more from a lack of awareness of the nature of the seminary program by some priesthood leaders, by the youth and …

The problem of the investigation concerned itself with the effect of preschool experiences on the achievement of the kindergarten children enrolled in the 1971-1972 Follow Through Program in Waterloo, Iowa, which used the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, model of individually prescribed instruction. The study explored the effects of preschool experience upon kindergarten males and females as contrasted to the male and female kindergarten children without preschool experience.

Two conceptual constructs gave direction and provided the rationale for this study. The first conceptual construct provided research related to early childhood education presented according to the Geneticist, Environmentalist, and the Interactionalist's positions. The second …

The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and chemical effects of the Cle Elum Reservoir on the Cle Elum River and to evaluate these effects in respect to the Ephemeroptera of the Cle Elum River. Specific objectives were: (1) To determine the effects of the reservoir on current velocity, volume of flow, turbidity, and temperature. (2) To determine the effects of the reservoir on alkalinity, hardness, dissolved oxygen, and pH. (3) To evaluate the effects of the reservoir on the Ephemeroptera of the Cle Elum River.

Relatively speaking, few studies have concerned themselves with the problem of frequent testing, and as Keys pointed out, empirical evidence, uncomplicated by differences in the amount of testing material employed, on the effects of frequent testing is, at best, scarce (14:427). Also many studies used tests and test results for direct instruction, thus introducing additional variables. Furthermore, the choice of subjects and disciplines has been limited, the better part being taken from college psychology and sociology classes or high school science classes. Duration Of State-Dependent Learning Induced By Ncfs-Ecs, Larry Wayne Morris

This paper investigated the course of the state-dependent function induced by NCFS-ECS at 24 hr. time intervals, beginning at 24 or 48 hrs. after NCFS-ECS treatment and terminating at 120 hrs. Results of both experiments indicate a state-dependent effect lasting up to 72 hrs., was absent at the 96 hr. retention test but, apparently returned by the 120 hr. retention test. Recommendations included investigation of fixed time intervals after the 120 hr. retention test.
