A Comparison Of Personality Characteristics Of Male And Female Engineering Students, Erin Beth Williams

The purpose of this study was to investigate differences between personality characteristics of female and male freshmen, engineering students. A secondary purpose was to ascertain whether personality characteristics of freshmen, engineering students were different from those of general collegiate students of the same sex. The Millon Index of Personality Styles (MIPS) was administered to a sample of 72 female and 86 male freshmen, engineering students at a private midwestern engineering institution. The MIPS college normative sample of 1,600 college students was used as a comparison group. A total of 24 personality characteristics were assessed in the domains of motivation aims, …

The Nature And Extent Of Pastoral Care In Five Western Australian Government Secondary Schools, W. L. Macdonald

The research is centred upon the nature and extent of pastoral care provision in five Western Australian Government secondary schools. The project took the form of five case-studies, set in schools which each had well established pastoral strategies in place. The schools plans and policies were influenced by contexts of State and Federal education programmes, by the community setting of each school, by community concerns, and by other priorities within the school itself. The purposes of this study were to identify the relationships of the perceptions of both leader behavior and organizational effectiveness to the job satisfaction of vocational teachers in vocational schools in Malaysia. Nine social and demographic characteristics of respondents were also investigated. The study was also aimed at determining the relative influence of the selected factors on the job satisfaction of respondents. A simple random sample of 250 teachers was selected, of whom 225 responded. The Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) - long form was used to measure job satisfaction, while the Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire and the Index of Perceived …

One purpose of this case study was to determine the effect of the introduction of computer-assisted instruction (CAI) materials upon students' learning ability in a college Biblical studies course. Another purpose was to gather information from students with regard to their attitudes toward CAI and its effectiveness in learning the course material. A third purpose of the study was the design of CAI materials using a general application software package.
