Langer notes that this appropriation was secured on the floor of the US Senate and is "in addition to all the other money that has been appropriated for them [in US House Resolution …

Forensics Programs And Dynamic Democracy..., Thorrel B. Fest
Forensics Programs And Dynamic Democracy..., Thorrel B. Fest
The Gavel of Delta Sigma Rho
Surveys conducted in 1947 indicated that the number of students participating in collegiate forensics had returned to prewar levels, and reports on the 1947-1948 season marked a new high in both interest and activity. In the midst of this upsurge, we may inquire as to what forensics are doing for and to the student, and ultimately for society. As we find ourselves in a season of squad meetings, practice sessions, tournaments, and post-tournament lamentations, it may be well to inquire if our forensic programs are developing students who want to make democracy work as well as enjoy its blessings.

Religious And Educational Contributions Of German-Russians To The Development Of Rush And Ellis Counties, Kansas, Alex G. Stremel Rev.

Due to the unawareness of these contributions by the general public and the lack of historical facts in the Fort Hays Kansas State College library concerning these German-Russian colonies, the writer selected this thesis problem: "Religious and Educational Contributions of German-Russians to the Development of Rush and Ellis Counties, Kansas." In developing the thesis the following plan obtains: (a) a statement of facts concerning the German-Russian emigration to the State of Kansas. (b) the development of the seven original colonies: Liebenthal, Catherine, Victoria, Munjor, Pfeifer, Schoenchen, and Hays. (c) the contribution of each colony to the field of religion and …
Education And Living: Volume 2, Ralph Borsodi
Education And Living: Volume 2, Ralph Borsodi
School of Living Documents
In Education and Living, a two-volume work, Borsodi elaborated the model of the School of Living. Most of volume one consists of a critique of “mis-education.” Most of that critique focuses on the problems of centralization; centralization of industry, the economy, politics and education. The second volume of Education and Living explains Borsodi’s vision of achieving decentralization in detail. The second volume is in two parts: Right-Education and Re-Education. It explains how to educate for the “Normal” human being and for achieving the “Normal” way of living. This is not the “normal” of the bell curve, the average of a …

The Development Of A Course Of Orientation In The Sacramento High School, Sacramento, California, And The Major Problems Of Its Administration, Alice Claxton Taggart
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The orientation course in the Sacramento Senior High School has developed withint the school. In making a study of this orientation course, it seems important to make a study of some representative schools in the west and middle west sections of our country. Corson, Dean of Personnel and Professor of Education in charge of courses of counseling and guidance at the College of the Pacific in Stockton, Califonria. I also wrote to Dr. E. A. The Voice: 1941-1950
In a follow-up to an article about the petition to instate food rationing, this weeks issue of the newspaper features a large article about the newly voted upon Food Conservation Program at the college. On the upcoming Saturday, Wooster served its first "Famine Meal" across campus. The meal received 80% approval from students, and so it was decided that the program would continue in future weeks. The conservation program will consist of the dining halls serving less wheat products every week and a less expensive meal once a week. The third page of the newspaper announces a win in track …
