A Proposal For A Compassionate Behavior Consultation - A Pilot Study, Danina Lynne Thatcher
Theses and Dissertations
Teachers frequently encounter disruptive or other challenging behavior in their classrooms, which often results in poor outcomes for both teachers and students. Behavior consultation is frequently used to assist teachers in managing challenging behavior. However, it is difficult for teachers to implement behavioral interventions with consistent fidelity, even with consultative support. This pilot study utilized a multiple-baseline design to evaluate the effects of a compassionate behavior consultation on teachers' implementation fidelity of evidence-based classroom management practices in three junior high classrooms. It also assessed the teacher's ratings of the social validity of the consultation process and resulting interventions. A compassionate …

Ot's Role In Community Accessibility At Public Parks And Playgrounds For Parents With Disabilities, Janae Paulo, Amy Lyons-Brown, Stacy Frauwith, Lena Gipson Showalter
Summer 2024 OTD Capstone Symposium
Public parks and playgrounds play a crucial role in fostering parent-child interaction, social inclusion, and community engagement. However, these essential recreational spaces often remain inaccessible to individuals with disabilities (Lynch et al., 2020). Research underscores the benefits of inclusive playgrounds, yet many are not designed to accommodate adults with disabilities, thus creating barriers for parents with disabilities who wish to engage with their children (Dalpra, 2022; Jacob et al., 2017). Although occupational therapy (OT) practitioners are instrumental in ensuring environmental accessibility within home settings, their involvement in the design of public spaces is limited. Young et al. (2019) advocate for …

Contributing Factors That Affect The Perception Of Canis Lupus, The Grey Wolf, In Idaho, Karl Michael Prokop
Boise State University Theses and Dissertations
Human-wildlife coexistence has become a hot topic of late, especially in the case of the grey wolf, where there are generally two distinct camps; those that strongly support wolf conservation and those that strongly support wolf eradication. This research explores the factors influencing a person’s perception of the wolf. Some previous research suggests that formal education may be one important factor, where more formal education leads to more positive perceptions of the wolf. Other factors, such as geographic location (e.g., urban versus rural), have also been proposed as important contributors to wolf perception. While studies of these factors have been …
