An Investigation Of Group Procedures As A Method Of Involving The Parents In The Resolution Of Children's Educational Problems, Glen Deane Brotherton
Graduate Student Research Papers
A trend in education for the past sixty years has been the gradual development of a variety of procedures involving parents in the education of children. Research that indicates the interdependence of the home and the school in educating children has been the major influence in the development of these programs. Today there is general agreement among educators that the home and school must work cooperatively to resolve children's educational problems. Many successful procedures are now being used which involve parents, but more effective ways of working with them are being sought. In this paper group procedures are being considered …

Latter-Day Prophets And Present-Day Curriculum, Neil J. Flinders
Theses and Dissertations
A gap exists between the religious ideals of human behavior and the common practices of man. Considerable effort has been expended in attempts to discover how to teach men to behave in ways that would be acceptable to society and still satisfy the ideals of the various religions. This problem is one of the major concerns of religious education.
In an effort to solve the above problem among its membership, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has established a program of week-day religious instruction, commonly referred to as the "Seminary program." This organization is currently engaged in an …

Therefore, a comprehensive inventory of such resources is essential, as is the systematic recording of survey findings, formulation of school policies concerning use of community resources, and the diffusion of this information to all personnel concerned. Contributions Of The Confessions To A Lutheran Philosophy Of Education, John Mager
Contributions Of The Confessions To A Lutheran Philosophy Of Education, John Mager
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
Because of the central place which the Confessions give to the doctrine of justification we feel that we can do nothing less than make this doctrine the unifying principle in this thesis. We do so for this reason that the unifying principle or a Lutheran philosophy of education cannot be much diverse from the material principle of its theology. If theology is the basis or the foundation upon which the superstructure of a Lutheran philosophy of education can be built up, then the two and their unifying principles are more closely related than we might assume.

The Certain Areas In Which Omaha High School Youth Desire Counseling, Mabel B. Carlson
Student Work
Human engineering is a great job. Many individuals fail to do their part in solving such problems as war, crime, and international intrigue because they have the attitude that the part they can play is so minute that their services would have little significance. However, these serious social problems have origin in individual selfishness; in the indifference of an individual to the needs and welfare of others; in jealousies and unfriendliness which individuals evidence in their day-by-day relations to others. People are taught to feel and think about themselves and others; and if our institutions of learning are to make …

Report By Hans Schwalm On A Meeting With Alfred Huhnhäuser, October 17, 1942, Hans Schwalm
Norwegian Projects
This report by Hans Schwalm on a meeting with Alfred Huhnhäuser discusses possibilities for creating a centralized research institute in Norway. Huhnhäuser was disappointed that his plan would receive no support as long as it included the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Society as the main tie to Germany. He and Schwalm discuss other options. Schwalm reports on the situation of the Ahnenerbe in pursuing such a project, indicating that they are 2 1/2 years behind Huhnhäuser, who has achieved great respect and built solid connections. He indicates that it would be better to work with Huhnhäuser than pursue such a project separately. The document …

The primary focus is on the possibility of creating a centralized research institute through close German-Norwegian collaboration. Schwalm notes that Huhnhäuser's plans fit with the Ahnenerbe goals. The attached paper by Huhnhäuser describes the current situation and the importance of …

Second, to find out if the school was carrying out its part in providing the Negro with the proper subject matter and activities.
