Concurrence With Persuasive Suggestion As A Function Of The Sex Of The Speaker, Sex Of The Listeners And The Form Of Persuasive Suggestion Used, John A.G. Klose
Concurrence With Persuasive Suggestion As A Function Of The Sex Of The Speaker, Sex Of The Listeners And The Form Of Persuasive Suggestion Used, John A.G. Klose
Student Work
Twelve groups of Ss participated in twelve different conditions to assess the relationship of concurrence to the sex of the speaker, sex of the listener and form of suggesttion used by a speaker. None of these independent variables was significantly related to the number of concurrent and nonconcurrent responses of Ss. However, nonconcurrent responses increased significantly for all groups of Ss with each suggestion in a series of four suggestions. This finding lends support to the theory of psychological reactance (Brehm, 1966).

Mass Media And The Future Of Preaching, Duane Mehl
Concordia Theological Monthly
Contemporary electronic media threaten the stability of words, the ability of words to stay put in our culture. Since society depends on a common organization of words and word symbols for orderly function and for the transmission of tradition from generation to generation, the new media profoundly affect the very nature of our culture.

An Examination Of Information Centers In The Organizational Structures Of A University, Lloyd Victor Atchison
An Examination Of Information Centers In The Organizational Structures Of A University, Lloyd Victor Atchison
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study is to examine the role and locations of “magnetic centers” which evolve, or are established , form the flow of information and the lines of authority on a university campus.
It is believed that the certain individuals are centers of information, “magnetic centers,” and they draw messages from other individuals at all levels in the communications network of the structure of structures of an institution. By doing this they exert influence through a filtering process of the flow of information they receive and disseminate. These magnetic connectors may or may not be recognized by other …
Conditioning Expressive Language In A Nonverbal Child, Frederick R. Moll
Conditioning Expressive Language In A Nonverbal Child, Frederick R. Moll
All Master's Theses
The problem of treating the child with delayed speech acquisition has generated a considerable amount of research and these studies have pointed out the need for further work in this area. The purpose of this study is to test the procedures of one particularly effective study, that of Dr. Burl B. Gray at the Monterey Institute for Speech and Hearing in Monterey, California. By removing it from the clinical setting of the Institute, with its unusually well-trained and highly specialized staff, and by successfully employing its procedures using comparatively untrained personnel, it was felt that this program might be applied …

Effects Of Programmed Conditioning On Language Achievement Of A Ten Year Old Non-Verbal Child, Robert J. Moore
All Master's Theses
It was hypothesized that a ten year old non-verbal boy could progress in the development of language through the use of programmed conditioning (Gray, 1968) conducted in a public school by a teacher not specifically trained in speech and language.
The Doctor, The Patient, And The Fda, Herbert L. Ley Jr.
The Doctor, The Patient, And The Fda, Herbert L. Ley Jr.
Cleveland State Law Review
There have been considerable charges and counter-charges the United States Food and Drug Administration's role in protecting the consumer, at least as far as the medical profession is concerned. The FDA has absolutely no intention nor desire to assume the role of the physician or to interfere with the bona fide practice of medicine. Why the complaints by some the FDA's actions on drugs, including drug labelling, drug recall and the withdrawal of certain drugs from the market, constitute attempts to interfere with the practice of medicine? It is possible that one of the reasons, and perhaps the principal one, …

I was asked to speak to you this morning about communication in the courtroom. Specifically I was told that this group, keenly interested in the trial process, would like to hear any comments I might offer on problems of persuading judges and jurors. If your delegate who invited me misread your interest, you still have time to move to the Lewis and CLark Room, down the hall, where, indeed, some of the most able communicators in the trial business are demonstrating what I shall only describe.
