Teacher Judgment In The Age Of Artificial Intelligence: Collaborative Inquiry Into Generative Ai For Udl-Aligned Instructional Planning In Elementary English Language Arts, Melissa G. Metz

This action research study explores how teacher-facing generative artificial intelligence (GAI), specifically Google Gemini, can support educators in UDL-aligned instructional planning within a Title I elementary school. Although AI is often discussed in terms of student-facing applications, less is known about how GAI can assist teachers with lesson planning, differentiation, and the demands of sustaining inclusive Tier I instruction. Guided by a conceptual framework integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and technology integration perspectives, the study engaged four educators in collaborative inquiry through AI Visioning Workshops, reflections, interviews, and planning artifacts.

We consider how tax regulations should be reviewed in a post-Chevron world. In 2011, the Supreme Court’s Mayo Foundation decision subjected Treasury regulations to ordinary Chevron deference, rejecting National Muffler’s tax-specific standard of review and declaring that the Court was “not inclined to carve out an approach to administrative review good for tax law only.” In 2024, Loper Bright overruled Chevron. This Article asks what Loper Bright means for Mayo—and, in turn, for National Muffler.

We reject the simple inference that Loper Bright automatically revives National Muffler. But we argue that National Muffler nonetheless …

This Article is about health, leaving aside more general challenges to shared civic information today. The Article begins by surveying the principal challenges for health information in post-pandemic, arguably post-truth America, and then describes briefly the sources and limits of medical professional authority. Noting the double-edged sword of free speech guarantees under the U.S. Constitution, the Article continues by commenting on speaking truth to government, to industry, and to the crowd. Emerging technologies have changed the dimensions of the first-year writing classroom. Before AI, assessment focused on traditional rubrics that emphasized arguments, rhetorical strategies, and language conventions. While this traditional checklist remains important for assessing student writing, it is also necessary to argue that the traditional rubric is insufficient for evaluating student performance in the current age of AI. We acknowledge that a rubric is not necessarily designed to detect AI use. However, there is a growing need for AI-informed assessment. A final-product rubric alone may provide insufficient evidence about the student’s writing process, decision-making, and authorship when AI is involved. …

Introduction: Mobile dating applications (MDAs) have moved from niche to norm, making connecting with others easier. A problem with MDAs is the accuracy of user self-presentation. Dispositional characteristics such as personality traits, psychological distress, and age may be factors that drive MDA users’ self-presentation behaviors. This study explored whether the extent of discrepancy between deceptive and real self-presentation predicts psychological distress, whether Big Five traits enhance this prediction, and whether age group influenced self-presentation among MDA users.

The current research regarding the impact of having a sibling undergoing cancer treatment is inconsistent and limited in scope. The current study explored the psychosocial effects, including peer relationships, academic outcomes, and overall mood in siblings of children with a cancer diagnosis. This study also explored the interaction patterns between children, their siblings with a leukemia diagnosis, and other members of the family. The participants of this study consisted of five youth from different families with a child or adolescent sibling with a leukemia diagnosis. Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a serious and potentially devastating health condition that can cause several lasting deleterious consequences affecting many domains of life. Difficulties are commonly reported in cognition, emotional, and social functioning, in addition to physical impairment. ABI disproportionally affects different groups, including the corrections population, which is five times more likely than the general population to have an ABI. Preterm infants are at elevated risk for developmental delays across cognitive, language, and motor domains, yet factors associated with engagement in NICU follow-up care remain poorly understood, particularly in diverse, urban populations. This study examined developmental outcomes at initial NICU follow-up and explored factors associated with follow-up completion among high-risk preterm infants. Participants included 174 infants enrolled in a hospital-based NICU follow-up program who completed an initial developmental screening using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, Fourth Edition Screener (Bayley-4 Screener). Gender socialization begins early in childhood and plays a significant role in shaping children's beliefs, behaviors, and perceptions of themselves and others. Parents serve as primary agents of gender socialization and contribute to children's understanding of gender roles through attitudes, expectations, and reinforcement of gender-related behaviors. The purpose of this quantitative study was to examine parental attitudes regarding traditional gender roles, modern sexism, and children's gender-related behaviors. Consent is an indispensable standard and organizing principle in any liberal legal order that prizes self-directed autonomy, self-identified preferences, and collective agreement. Yet consent’s capacity to advance those values has become increasingly uncertain in a society beset by power imbalances, information asymmetries, and multiple forms of polarization. In this Article, we document how the rise of neoliberalism has led to greater reliance on consent throughout U.S. law, while at the same time leading to greater doubts about its moral efficacy and empirical feasibility. During oral argument in Slaughter last month, Solicitor General John Sauer argued that there were three textual sources for an illimitable presidential removal power: the Vesting Clause, the Take Care Clause, and the Appointments Clause. Why the Appointments Clause? Because, he explained, “the power to remove flows to the power to appoint.” According to Sauer, a run of nineteenth century cases, including Ex Parte Hennen, supports this proposition.
