Ethics Across The Curriculum: Application To Economics
Ethics Across The Curriculum: Application To Economics
Journal of Economics and Finance Education
We propose that the study of economics can be enhanced by students learning ethical reasoning within their economics courses. Our method for introducing more robust discussions of the relationship between ethics and economics is to incorporate principles and strategies from the “Ethics Across the Curriculum” program. The methods we used to enhance our own course can be adapted to any economics course and the resources we provide can help any economist become more comfortable with teaching ethical reasoning.

Selling The Spell: The Commodification Of Feminist Witchcraft, Noël Subrina Sucese
Selling The Spell: The Commodification Of Feminist Witchcraft, Noël Subrina Sucese
Dissertations
"Selling the Spell" argues that Feminist Witches, or Crafters, navigated a fraught relationship with consumer culture, at once resisting commodification, embracing it, and reshaping it in ways that carried spiritual, political, and economic consequences. Drawing on oral histories, archival and digital sources, this dissertation traces the evolution of American Feminist Witchcraft and related Pagan traditions from the 1960s through the early 2000s. It situates the Craft at the intersection of feminism, counterculture, and capitalism, showing how spiritual practices that emphasized female embodiment and communal ritual became entangled with publishing, festivals, consumer goods, and the Internet. The dissertation contributes to four …

Assessing Universal Basic Income: An Islamic Historical And Maqāṣidī Perspective, Abdulazeem Abozaid, Saqib Hafiz Khateeb
Assessing Universal Basic Income: An Islamic Historical And Maqāṣidī Perspective, Abdulazeem Abozaid, Saqib Hafiz Khateeb
Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Islamic Economics
The constant concern for ensuring that the basic needs of every human are met has prompted various steps with an aim to promote equality. This concern has eventually led to an increasing demand to guarantee a reasonable standard of living. Some economists have recently revisited the concept of Universal Basic Income (UBI) that has caught the interest of some governments and policy makers. This paper investigates the concept of UBI from historical, legal (Islamic), and Maqāṣidī perspectives. It traces the conceptual origins of UBI back to the Islamic society since the early Islamic history. Adopting a conceptual–analytical methodology, the paper …

Navigating the Future Together: Student Success Symposium
Abstract:
Academic libraries are uniquely positioned to support holistic student success by fostering environments that promote well-being, belonging, and resilience. This presentation highlights how our university library integrates wellness into its strategic planning, services, and physical spaces. Through initiatives such as a dedicated meditation room, guided mindfulness sessions, and stress-relief activities, the library creates inclusive spaces for reflection and restoration. A curated Mindfulness Collection—featuring digital and physical resources on mental health, spirituality, and contemplative practices—empowers students to explore wellness on their own terms. These efforts are complemented by Earth Month programming that connects personal well-being with environmental stewardship.

Interviews With Roman Catholic Couples In First-Time Long-Term Marriages: Navigating The Landscape Of Life-Long Marriages With Spirituality As The Guiding Principle To Achieving Enduring Marital Relationships, Sovichan E. Scaria, Carl L. Thameling, Jana P. Sutton, David Hale
Journal of Interprofessional Practice and Collaboration
In-depth guided interviews were conducted with 10 Roman Catholic (RC) couples to reveal the impact religious spirituality had on their long-term marriages. Achieving this goal meant examining Catholic Church’s teachings on marriage, divorce and annulment, and relationship development and maintenance. The interview sessions were video-audio taped and analyzed. Some sample questions asked of the couples were: “How, if at all, did spirituality play a role in choosing your spouse?” “How do you practice spirituality in your marriage?” and “What advice would you give younger couples who have recently gotten married?” Analysis resulted in 8 themes being identified as important to …

Using What We’Ve Got: Activating Institutional Archives In Uncertain Times, Dorian Onifer, Iris Finkel
Urban Library Journal
Activating institutional archives can provide rich opportunities for original research, the development of multiple literacies, and cultivating a sense of student belonging. This proceedings paper outlines a place-based, primary source research project presented at the 2025 LACUNY Institute. Implemented in a 100-level Library Research course, the project utilized historical yearbooks from our institutional archives to investigate the undergraduate experiences of notable alumni. The replicable design of the project allows for adaptation across disciplines and institutions, offering a flexible model for integrating archival pedagogy and primary source literacy into a broad range of disciplines.
Pastoral Ministry At The Intersections Of Life For A Synodal Church In Asia, Charles Bertille
Pastoral Ministry At The Intersections Of Life For A Synodal Church In Asia, Charles Bertille
Asia Pacific Mission Studies
This paper is condensed from the Keynote Address presented by the author at EAPI's 60th Anniversary. Pastoral ministry in Asia unfolds amid pluralism, migration, inequality, and shifting identities, requiring a vision beyond sacramental maintenance toward lived experience and communal struggle. Rooted in Vatican II, Asian theology, and the Synod on Synodality, ministry is participatory, dialogical, and mission-oriented. Synodality calls for conversion of spirit and structure: humility, discernment, and trust. Leadership must be missionary, interculturally competent, and committed to the poor and creation. Formation institutes such as EAPI and NIFSA serve as laboratories for synodal practice, fostering prophetic leadership. Ultimately, synodality …

The Colloquy In St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises As An I-Thou Encounter With Mary, Jesus, And God The Father In Seeking For What We Desire, Thomas Sherman
The Colloquy In St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises As An I-Thou Encounter With Mary, Jesus, And God The Father In Seeking For What We Desire, Thomas Sherman
Landas
In the Spiritual Exercises (henceforth SpEx) of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Colloquy is a conversation between the exercitant (the one engaged in the SpEx) and the persons of Mary, Jesus, and the Father in which the persons addressed are asked to help the exercitant obtain what s/he desires from God. Placed at the conclusion of practically all the meditations and contemplations throughout the SpEx, the Ignatian Colloquy can be considered of crucial importance in the SpEx and the summit of Ignatian prayer. Yet as important as the Ignatian Colloquy is in the SpEx, putting the Colloquy into practice by …
