The study aims to develop a methodology for using VNLS in healthcare environments …

Before You Choose: Find The Fact That Can Change The Decision, Volodymyr Kotegov Oct 2026

Before You Choose: Find The Fact That Can Change The Decision, Volodymyr Kotegov

Defensive Publications Series

Thesis. For complex personal and professional decisions, AI is most useful not as a source of answers but as a tool for finding what you do not know: it helps separate facts from assumptions, expand the set of options, find weak points in a plan, and design cheap tests before a mistake becomes costly or irreversible.

What is proposed. An operational framework of five loops (Bifurcation Engine), in which each loop provides material for the next, while the right to decide and the responsibility remain with the human. The framework builds on known techniques: pre-mortem, red team, value of information …

The Wheel That Unwinds The Wheel: The Abhidhamma As Executable Process-Specification — Buddhist Cognitive Psychology As A Process Model For Ai Alignment Evaluation, Red Teaming And Interpretability, Thon Ly Oct 2026

The Wheel That Unwinds The Wheel: The Abhidhamma As Executable Process-Specification — Buddhist Cognitive Psychology As A Process Model For Ai Alignment Evaluation, Red Teaming And Interpretability, Thon Ly

Defensive Publications Series

We read the Abhidhamma, the analytical third division of the Theravāda Buddhist canon, as a process specification of mind: typed, momentary mental events arising one at a time under twenty-four typed conditioning relations, with ethical class tracked per event and per position in a processing cycle. From that reading we derive a research programme for AI alignment evaluation and intervention: a red-team taxonomy of mimicry failure modes, in which each alignment target is paired with a cheap mimic that passes its behavioural interface; resting-state evaluation of language models under empty or minimal context; an intervention-timing typology over a processing cycle; …

The Freedom Requirement: Voluntary Relinquishment As The Third Path, And The Micro-Scale Of The Self-Eliminating Institution — Individual-Scale Success Metrics For Incentive-Subsidized Voluntary Giving, Motivation Crowding-Out, And Expiry Of Designated-Purpose Giving Funds, Thon Ly Oct 2026

The Freedom Requirement: Voluntary Relinquishment As The Third Path, And The Micro-Scale Of The Self-Eliminating Institution — Individual-Scale Success Metrics For Incentive-Subsidized Voluntary Giving, Motivation Crowding-Out, And Expiry Of Designated-Purpose Giving Funds, Thon Ly

Defensive Publications Series

This study concerns how an organization that subsidizes voluntary giving with incentive payments, including one run by an autonomous AI agent, can measure success without Goodhart's-law gaming. A population-scale gauge reads success as the elasticity of giving to the subsidy: how far the subsidy can be withdrawn while giving persists. The study gives its individual-scale form as three jointly necessary account signals: a rising fraction of surplus routed into giving channels, no outflow back to oneself, and a retained balance falling toward zero. Read as a level, throughput ranks participants by wealth; the scale-free signals do not. The central argument …

The Heartbank Longitudinal Cohort: A Dataset Combining Dna, Natal Chart, Family Tree, Continuous Behavioral Observation, And Continuous Respiratory Observation At Civilizational Scale — Tiered Consent, Federated Analysis, Homomorphic Encryption And Key-Destruction Withdrawal For A Genomic, Wearable-Sensor And Pedigree Cohort, Thon Ly

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure specifies the design of a privacy-preserving, multimodal longitudinal cohort study that links, for each consenting participant, five data layers: genome data (DNA sequence or genotyping array); date, time and place of birth, with the astronomical positions computed from them; a continuous record of prosocial transfers on a peer-to-peer gratitude ledger; continuous respiration data from a chest-worn wearable sensor; and verified kinship links in a pedigree graph, at a target of 100 million participants over decades. Consent is tiered: granted and withdrawn separately for each layer, and never tied to platform benefits. The privacy stack combines differentially private analysis …

The Quest That Mints Nothing: Software-Generated Real-World Volunteer Task Sequences Drawn Only From Existing Need Registries, With No Completion Rewards, Compensation-Free Help Requests, Delayed Mediated Acknowledgment And Alarm-Triggered Drone Witnesses Without Patrol, Thon Ly Oct 2026

The Quest That Mints Nothing: Software-Generated Real-World Volunteer Task Sequences Drawn Only From Existing Need Registries, With No Completion Rewards, Compensation-Free Help Requests, Delayed Mediated Acknowledgment And Alarm-Triggered Drone Witnesses Without Patrol, Thon Ly

Defensive Publications Series

We specify a software agent that generates multi-step, real-world volunteer activity sequences for an individual or household exclusively by selecting, ordering and narrating entries already present in community need registries: posted help requests, commons sites awaiting care, pending gift deliveries, and contacts the household itself has named. The sequence data structure has no operation that creates a task; each task is a reference to a live registry entry, re-checked when it begins, and the operator authors no entry. Completing a task confers no points, badges, currency or reputation; the only reward is acknowledgment the beneficiary chooses to send through the …

Designing For Who Actually Shows Up: A Signal Framework For Online Adult Learners In Cybersecurity And Information Technology, Chad Whistle, Mayyada Al-Hammoshi

Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice

Online adult learners pursuing cybersecurity and information technology credentials represent one of the fastest-growing student populations in American higher education, yet the frameworks institutions use to support their success were not designed for them. This population, disproportionately drawn from the 41.9 million Americans who hold some college credit but no credential, arrives workforce-embedded, time-constrained, and skeptical of institutional systems that previously failed to serve them. Existing persistence models grounded in traditional student integration theory inadequately account for the behavioral patterns, motivational structures, and credential expectations that define this learner. This paper proposes the SIGNAL Framework (Skills-based credential architecture, Integrated AI-informed …

How Wisconsin Extension Educators Talk About Climate Change Without Talking About ``Climate Change'', Sky Hershberger, Todd P. Newman Oct 2026

How Wisconsin Extension Educators Talk About Climate Change Without Talking About ``Climate Change'', Sky Hershberger, Todd P. Newman

Journal of Extension

Climate change touches all areas of Extension's programming. To understand how educators approach talking about climate change with constituents, we interviewed 15 Extension educators and three program managers in Wisconsin. Crops and Soils educators view climate change as interwoven with their work, Financial Education educators view it as mostly disconnected, and Community Economic Development educators range between these extremes. Educators in all three programs avoid the polarizing phrase ``climate change,'' instead focusing on specific, local, and relatable issues. Educators show empathy and emphasize resilience (adaptation) rather than mitigation. These findings can inform Extension's organizational strategy on climate change.
