Planetary Defense As The Ethico-Legal Gateway For International Space Security, Evie Kendal Sep 2026

Planetary Defense As The Ethico-Legal Gateway For International Space Security, Evie Kendal

Space and Defense

Following the news in late 2024 that there was a city-killer asteroid on a possible collision course with Earth, many members of the public were shocked to learn there was no reliable global plan for managing such asteroidal and cometary impact hazards. While calculations of Asteroid 2024 YR4’s trajectory were further refined to exclude the previously reported 2-3% chance of collision in 2032, this event highlighted a major security threat: the lack of a globally coordinated, appropriately resourced, and politically supported planetary defense strategy (Gibney, 2025). In so doing, it also provided an opportunity for security experts to consider the …

The Impact Of Social Expectations And Gender Norms On Women Leaders' Marital And Partner Relationships And Their Influence On Workplace Outcomes, Hedi Kovacs-Resnik Sep 2026

The Impact Of Social Expectations And Gender Norms On Women Leaders' Marital And Partner Relationships And Their Influence On Workplace Outcomes, Hedi Kovacs-Resnik

Economic and Business Review

Leadership sustainability among women remains insufficiently explained in leadership research, as dominant models prioritise workplace factors, neglecting the role of private-life demands. This research explored how social expectations and gender norms influence women's private lives and how the emotional impact spills over into their leadership style and performance, thereby influencing their career progression. Using a qualitative design and thematic analysis of 18 interviews with women in leadership roles, the research examined what it means to lead while also navigating family and relationships.
The findings revealed that the boundaries between women's private and professional lives are almost nonexistent. Professional success often …

When Loyalty Intentions Fail: Evidence On The Intention–Behaviour Gap And Customer Retention In Mobile Telecommunications, Danilo Tomšič Sep 2026

When Loyalty Intentions Fail: Evidence On The Intention–Behaviour Gap And Customer Retention In Mobile Telecommunications, Danilo Tomšič

Economic and Business Review

This paper quantifies and explains the consumer intention–behaviour gap in mobile telecommunications and shows how it matters for competitive resource allocation. Using a two-wave longitudinal survey of 4887 consumers, I compare stated switching intentions at time t with self-reported provider choice at t + 1 and identify a 15.4% divergence comprising two forms: nonswitching intenders (consumers who intended to switch but did not) and switching nonintenders (consumers who did not intend to switch but did). Binary logistic models reveal temporal asymmetry in determinants. Among nonswitching intenders, higher baseline loyalty (satisfaction, repeat-choice commitment, and recommendation intention) lowers the likelihood of remaining …

System And Method For Statistical Modeling And Automated Lifecycle Refresh Detection Of Digital Media Assets, Manisha Arora, Yassine Idrissi, Bruno Caforio

Defensive Publications Series

A data-driven, statistically rigorous analytical framework is disclosed for determining performance decay and optimizing the replacement timing of digital media assets (such as images and videos) in digital media campaigns. The system ingests campaign-level and asset-level metrics on a daily basis and extracts high-dimensional visual and semantic embedding vectors from the media assets using a deep neural network feature extractor. A visual taxonomy is constructed by clustering similar assets into visual archetypes using K-Means clustering, allowing for aggregate fatigue analysis within specific thematic content clusters. The statistical decay engine fits a non-linear saturation model (e.g., a Hill function S-curve) to …

Adaptive Homeostasis: A Strategy For Preserving Stability And Generative Capacity Under Uncertainty, Volodymyr Kotegov Sep 2026

Adaptive Homeostasis: A Strategy For Preserving Stability And Generative Capacity Under Uncertainty, Volodymyr Kotegov

Defensive Publications Series

This document offers a practical framework of priorities and working tools for people confronting a shrinking planning horizon, the declining value of conventional educational and professional pathways, rising psychophysical exhaustion, and a loss of coherent direction.

The strategy addresses two related tasks. The first is to protect psychological and physical health, secure basic material stability, and maintain the capacity for clear thinking. The second is to sustain generative capacity—the ability to produce non-trivial observations, hypotheses, and life trajectories. Generativity is treated first and foremost as a present-day resource. It supports a sense of meaning, adaptability, and psychological resilience. Secondarily, it …
