BioMolViz is an educational community of practice (CoP) focused on creating resources to improve biomolecular visual literacy instruction and assessment. The community of life science instructors developed in three phases, beginning with a small Core Team that emerged from a conference session and established the domain of interest for the CoP. In-person workshops, supported by short-term funding, drove the initial expansion of the community and the development of shared activities in Phase 2. This CoP was sustained through intentional choices about how members interact, collaborate, and share work. As the community matured in Phase 3, it was supported by longer-term …

Technical Specification Spec-153: Non-Invasive Bio-Resonant Cellular Metrology, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Modern clinical diagnostics are monopolized by highly centralized, high-cost chemical laboratory processing networks and massive, complex proprietary imaging hardware. This specification formalizes SPEC-153: An Acoustophoretic Cytometric Waveform Scanner.

By passing an unrefined cellular sample through a low-intensity, dual-frequency radio-frequency and ultrasonic wave-guided microfluidic path, the system maps the inherent mechanical and electrostatic resonance profiles of individual cellular structures. Regulated by your invariant Torsional Viscosity Governor (\(\eta_t = 1.4204\)), the device maps healthy cell profiles against pathogenic structural variations, allowing table-top, non-chemical disease screening and localized health security without synthetic biochemical dependencies.

Technical Specification Spec-145: Bioregenerative Molecular Nutrient Regeneration Matrix And Closed-System Biomass Liquefaction Fluidics For Continuous Eco-Autonomous Agriculture, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Modern controlled environment agriculture (CEA) is fundamentally bottlenecked by its reliance on linear, open-ended supply chains. Commercial vertical farms consume highly refined synthetic mineral salts derived from energy-heavy industrial processes and generate significant quantities of inedible plant biomass that are cast out as waste.

This specification establishes the blueprint for SPEC-145: A Bioregenerative Molecular Nutrient Loop. By integrating focused acoustic cavitation mechanics with a multi-stage fixed-bed biological nitrification processor, SPEC-145 converts 100% of solid inedible crop waste (lignocellulose stalks, roots, and structural biomass) directly into bio-available, plant-ready macronutrient solutions inside a completely sealed, non-thermal closed loop. Combined with an integrated …

Bridging Fragmented Health Systems In The Age Of Subscription, Orchestration, And Ambient Care, Deepak Aggarwal

Defensive Publications Series

Most health systems are now funding two incompatible operating models at the same time. One delivers continuous, digital care into people’s daily lives. The other is still anchored in queues, paper referrals, broken hand-offs, and exhausted frontline teams. These worlds coexist inside the same health systems, funded by the same budgets and governed by the same leaders.  This split is no longer an efficiency problem. It is actively engineering a two-tier healthcare system in which digitally fluent patients move into continuous care, while everyone else is left navigating failure

This paper describes six shifts that are already reshaping care and …

Natural Language Query Decomposition Using A Small Language Model With Parallel Schema Processing, Pinkesh Badjatiya Sep 2026

Natural Language Query Decomposition Using A Small Language Model With Parallel Schema Processing, Pinkesh Badjatiya

Defensive Publications Series

Conversational artificial intelligence systems for enterprise databases may face a trade-off between the potentially high cost and latency of large models and the potentially lower accuracy of smaller models when processing complex, domain-specific schemas. A system is described for natural language query decomposition that can use a constrained-parameter small language model (SLM). The system can process large data schemas by decomposing them into smaller, parallel batches. Specialized prompt engineering, such as an inverted prompt structure for caching, and a structured reasoning template can guide the SLM. A sequential ambiguity resolver may then consolidate outputs from the parallel workers into a …

Stochastic Invasion Thresholds For Transmission-Blocking Symbionts And Malaria Control Under Environmental Noise, Steeven Belvinos Affognon, Philip Ngare, Henri E.Z. Tonnang, Benard Kipchumba Kiplangat, Shirley Abelman, Jeremy K. Herren

All Peer-Reviewed Publications

Introduction – Transmission-blocking symbionts may complement existing malaria vector-control tools, but their public-health value depends on two linked conditions: ecological establishment in mosquito populations and long-run prevalence high enough to suppress malaria transmission. Methods – Motivated by Microsporidia MB in Anopheles mosquitoes, we developed a scale-free stochastic differential-equation model for uninfected and symbiont-infected adult female mosquitoes with density-dependent recruitment, vertical transmission, mating-mediated horizontal conversion, and multiplicative environmental noise. We derived a rare-symbiont stochastic invasion index, analyzed extinction and invasion thresholds, used Malliavin-Hörmander analysis to characterize inter-class noise transfer, and linked stationary symbiont prevalence to an effective Ross-Macdonald malaria reproduction number. …

To address this need, a demonstration using a multidetector-equipped Malvern Panalytical OMNISEC system was developed and incorporated into a second-year organic chemistry laboratory course during the 2025–2026 academic year. This activity engaged more than 300 undergraduate students representing …

What Determines Free Speech On College Campuses?, Town Oh, Abbylin Sellers Sep 2026

What Determines Free Speech On College Campuses?, Town Oh, Abbylin Sellers

School of Business and Leadership Working Papers

This paper asks two questions. Which institutional characteristics are associated with stronger or weaker campus speech climates? And do institutions take corrective action when they are publicly ranked near the bottom? A university faces two costs of restricting speech: a legal cost that binds only public institutions, and a reputational cost is paid when its climate is publicly observed and private institutions also bear this cost. The evidence comes from five waves of the FIRE College Free Speech Rankings, 1,112 institution-waves covering 257 colleges from 2022 to 2026, merged with IPEDS. On the first question, being a public institution is …
