Context-Specific Legitimacy In English Language Teaching: Rethinking Nativeness In The Korean Efl Context, Kenn Arcenal, Teri An Joy G. Magpale
Journal of English and Applied Linguistics
Although non-native English-speaking teachers now make up the majority of the global ELT workforce, perceived nativeness continues to function as an enduring filter in hiring and evaluation. This perspective paper examines how that filter operates unevenly across the institutional sectors of South Korea’s EFL labor market, arguing that Filipino English Teachers (FETs) face a distributive rather than a uniformly ideological inequity, with the biggest disadvantage concentrated in commercially driven private academies. Drawing on two companion studies of FETs working across Korean academic sectors (Magpale & Arcenal, 2025, in press) and integrating more recent scholarship on native-speakerism with comparative evidence from …

From Tragedy To Liberation: The Tragic Mulatta And Abolition Democracy At The Intersection Of Race And Gender In The Quadroons And The Octoroon, Maram Mohammed Mahmoud Samman
University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences
This essay explores the figure of the tragic mulatta in Lydia Maria Child’s The Quadroons and Dion Boucicault’s The Octoroon, analyzing how mixed-race female characters critique the racial and gender hierarchies of 19th-century America. Using an intersectional lens, it examines how race, gender, and class shape the identities and tragic fates of Xarifa and Zoe—women who were socially excluded from both Black and White communities. Drawing on W.E.B. Du Bois’s concept of double consciousness and the framework of Abolition Democracy, the essay argues that the tragic mulatta is not merely a narrative trope but a site of political tension and …

Binara: A Game-Based 3d Simulation Framework For Pre-Occupancy Architectural Design Evaluation, Doaa Sinnari
Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Computing and Information Technology Sciences
Architectural design workflows still rely heavily on post-occupancy evaluation (POE), where usability and experiential issues are often identified only after buildings have been constructed. Although advances in real-time rendering and game engines enable immersive architectural visualization, most existing tools primarily support passive walkthroughs and remain disconnected from systematic user-experience evaluation. This limitation highlights the need for interactive approaches that allow stakeholders to experience and assess architectural spaces prior to construction. This paper presents Binara, a game-based three-dimensional simulation framework designed to support immersive pre-occupancy architectural design evaluation. The proposed framework integrates architectural construction tools, immersive walkthrough exploration, and conversational feedback …

An Interactive Multi-Objective Programming Approach For Optimizing Fully Trapezoidal Spherical Fuzzy Linear Programming Problem With Application, Sultan S. Alodhaibi, Hissah Ibrahim Almuzini, Hamiden Abd El-Wahed Khalifa
Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
In this paper, a linear programming framework with completely uncertain parameters is investigated by employing trapezoidal spherical fuzzy numbers (TrSFNs). The proposed formulation incorporates a spherical fuzzy (SF) decision environment in which the optimization process simultaneously maximizes the degree of positive membership while minimizing the corresponding neutral and negative membership degrees. By utilizing the concept of the α -cut associated with TrSFNs, the original fully fuzzy linear programming problem is transformed into an interval-valued linear programming model with confidence levels. Cryopreservation of goat semen is an essential tool for genetic improvement, germplasm conservation, and the expansion of artificial insemination programs in caprine breeding. However, buck spermatozoa are highly susceptible to cryo-induced oxidative stress due to their membrane composition rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Excessive generation of reactive oxygen species during semen processing, freezing, and thawing compromises sperm motility, viability, membrane integrity, mitochondrial function, and DNA stability, ultimately reducing post-thaw fertilizing potential. Semen extenders play a pivotal role in mitigating these detrimental effects by providing cryoprotection and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Among commercial extenders, Triladyl® is widely used in ruminant semen preservation; …
