Technical Evaluation Of The Interactive Digital Vinyl System (Idvs), Christoph Fussgänger
Technical Evaluation Of The Interactive Digital Vinyl System (Idvs), Christoph Fussgänger
Defensive Publications Series
This technical evaluation presents the Interactive Digital Vinyl System (IDVS) and the IDVS+, a sensor-based Digital Vinyl System (DVS) control vinyl that adds a rotating touchscreen interface for direct, on-deck control of DJ and music software.
The IDVS+ is a 12-inch, battery-powered device that operates without a stylus, continuously measures its own rotation via internal motion sensors, and transmits motion data wirelessly to a connected computer, DJ player, or smartphone, where the audio is generated and played back. In addition to standard DVS behavior (speed control, forward and reverse movement, and scratching), the IDVS+ introduces a high-resolution touchscreen surface capable …

Characteristics Of One Escherichia Coli Strain Isolated From The Sick Red Panda Excreting Mucus-Like Faeces, Dongjie Cai, Lanjing Ma, Xingxin Fu, Bin Tian, David Ranucci
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
The purpose of this study is to explore the main pathogens that caused one red panda to excrete mucus-containing faeces continuously. The anal swabs of sick red panda were collected for bacterial isolation, biochemical analysis, 16SrRNA sequencing identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and research on pathogenicity in Mice. An Escherichia coli (E. coli) strain was isolated and determined. This strain was resistant to ampicillin, penicillin G, ceftiofur, and highly sensitive to levofloxacin, imipenem, azithromycin, kanamycin, and compound sulfamethoxazole. All mice died within 8-14 hours after injected intraperitoneally with 6×108 CFU/mL E. coli. Histopathology showed that the lungs, …

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
This study aimed to evaluate the analytical agreement between a handheld point-of-care (POC) lactate meter (StatStrip Xpress®2 Lac/Hb/Hct, Nova Biomedical) and a standard blood gas analyzer (Stat Profile Prime Plus® VET, Nova Biomedical) for measuring plasma lactate concentrations in critically ill dogs. Fifty-seven client-owned dogs were admitted to the Emergency Unit and Critical Care Unit (CCU) of the Small Animal Hospital, Chulalongkorn University, enrolled. Blood samples were analyzed using both a handheld POC meter and a blood gas analyzer. To evaluate analytical agreement across a wide concentration range, data were categorized into low (1–4 mmol/L; n = …

RISC-V is a free and open-standard ISA based on RISC principles, allowing anyone to design, manufacture, and sell RISC-V chips and software. Its flexibility and growing ecosystem have made it popular in research, education, and industry, increasing the need for educational materials. This paper provides an in-depth description of the RVfpga course, which offers a solid introduction to computer architecture using the RISC-V instruction set and FPGA technology. It focuses on providing hands-on experience with real-world RISC-V cores, the VeeR EH1 and EL2 cores, developed by Western Digital and hosted by ChipsAlliance. The course targets students and educators in computing-related …

Community Synchrony In Aquatic Macroinvertebrates Is Unrelated To Environmental Variability But Differs Among Functional Feeding Groups, Anthony J. Pignatelli, Tad Dallas
Community Synchrony In Aquatic Macroinvertebrates Is Unrelated To Environmental Variability But Differs Among Functional Feeding Groups, Anthony J. Pignatelli, Tad Dallas
Faculty Publications
Environments are becoming increasingly more variable, as a function of climate change. As this occurs, species may be exposed to conditions outside their preferred range. Such variability in the environment can influence community abundance as individual species respond either similarly (synchronous dynamics) or differently (asynchronous dynamics) to each other. These fluctuations in abundances are important for understanding the impact of environmental variability on species temporal fluctuations in aquatic macroinvertebrates. This group of organisms is species-rich and highly sensitive to environmental fluctuations. We analyzed 18 stream macroinvertebrate communities sampled by the National Ecological Observatory Network between 2014 and2022 to understand how …

Overcoming The Dyadic Default In Research On Child Development, Roman Stengelin, Patricia Kanngiesser, Sophie Milward
Overcoming The Dyadic Default In Research On Child Development, Roman Stengelin, Patricia Kanngiesser, Sophie Milward
School of Psychology
Researchers conducting experimental work on sociocognitive development in childhood typically study one-on-one interactions. This approach aligns with the assumption that children's social cognition, motivation, and learning first emerge in dyadic interactions before scaling up to larger social ensembles. In this article, we argue that this dyadic default reflects widespread theoretical and cultural biases as well as methodological convenience, leading to an overemphasis on dyadic interactions in research on child development. Because dyadic engagements can differ qualitatively and quantitatively from those in larger social ensembles, the dyadic default may systematically skew our understanding of key areas of social development and fail …

Silicone-based implants have been widely used in breast reconstruction but have also been associated with poorly understood complications, including pathologic foreign body responses such as capsular contracture. In this study, we leveraged 3D-printing technology to generate silicone-based implants in a novel, anatomically relevant, prepectoral rat model. We used this model to evaluate the response to an extracellular matrix-based product: ovine-derived reinforced tissue matrix (RTM). Two-piece negative molds were developed through computer-aided design and 3D-printed. The molds were filled with various polydimethylsiloxane mixtures and dip-coated to fabricate implants. Implant material characterization revealed that the implants retained the original 3D-printed mold shape …

Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a highly aggressive and lethal subtype of prostate cancer (PCa) that often emerges in response to androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPIs), which are widely used in treating metastatic castration-resistant and hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The incidence of NEPC is increasing, yet effective therapeutic strategies remain limited due to an incomplete understanding of its molecular drivers. Through transcriptomic analyses of human prostate tumor samples, we identified the histone lysine demethylase KDM4A as uniquely overexpressed in human and mouse NEPC compared to prostate adenocarcinoma. Functional validation demonstrated that KDM4A is a key regulator of NEPC progression and a …
