This paper presents an addendum to the Mapbook of Syntactic Variation in American English (Wood et al. 2020), reporting the results of additional acceptability-judgment surveys conducted by the Yale Grammatical Diversity Project in 2020–2021. Using the same survey design, data-processing pipeline, and mapping techniques as the original mapbook, we extend the empirical record to a new set of syntactic constructions, including additional uses of hella, causal where, the alternative one construction, intensificational fully, and several cases of object omission with transitive verbs, which we call “lonely transitives”. Forecasting Inland Waterway Container On Barge Volume: A Machine Learning Approach Using Economic Features, Fan Bu, Heather Nachtmann

This study presents a machine learning approach to predict Container-on-Barge (COB) volume in Inland Waterway Transportation (IWT) systems, focusing exclusively on using economic features as predictors. Five machine learning models were trained using European economic features to forecast COB volume, while historical COB volume was used solely for validation and hyperparameter tuning. Among these models, the convolutional neural network combined with long short-term memory (CNN-LSTM) exhibited superior performance, achieving a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 1.08% when forecasting eight consecutive quarters of COB volume in Europe. The results demonstrate the feasibility of accurately forecasting COB volume using economic features. …

Background Home-based ironing businesses in Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta, are part of the informal sector, vulnerable to health risks due to suboptimal working conditions. This study aims to identify, assess, and control health risks through a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) approach.

Methods Research methods include direct observation, interviews, environmental measurements, health screenings, and ergonomic surveys using the BRIEF (Baseline Risk Identification of Ergonomic Factor) instrument.

Case Report: A 5-year-old boy presented with swelling in the left buccal region. Clinical examination revealed a firm mass. CT scan showed a heterogeneous lesion with necrosis, extending into adjacent spaces. Case Report: An 80-year-old man presented for conservative treatment of tongue cancer. Based on his preference, superselective intra-arterial chemoradiotherapy was chosen instead of surgery. Thirty-six days after treatment began, the patient developed a fever of 38.4°C and worsening oral mucositis (grade 3 CTCAE Ver. 4.0).
