This Note considers the modern implications of the takings power in light of PennEast Pipeline Co. v. New Jersey, a 2021 U.S. Supreme Court decision holding that states do not have the right to exercise state sovereign immunity against private parties holding congressionally delegated authority. Against current environmental conditions and recent takings power history, this Note then examines the delegation power of Congress and the public policy implications of the present administrative scheme—as compared to the typical exercise of the federal eminent domain power. My work can be interpreted metaphorically, poetically, and directly through sculpture, installation, sound, and film. To address the dearth in psychological research and practice in regards to Arab American men, this study examined the lived experiences of seven Levantine (Belad Al Sham) Arab American men with origins in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq. Semi-structured interviews, Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), and a Liberation Psychology framework were utilized to explore their definitions of mental health, their experiences of stigma, their experiences with mental health therapy, and their attitudes towards psychology and therapy. The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) is a non-profit organization working to end the harms of the juvenile, municipal and criminal legal systems, including by decriminalizing normal adolescent behavior, ending financial consequences, and improving children’s access to adequate developmentally appropriate treatment. Our work prioritizes eradicating the school-to-prison pipeline, and abolishing harmful fines, fees and economic sanctions through the Debt Free Justice Campaign (DFJ).

In school districts across the nation, students receive fees and fines as consequences for school-based behavior. Students are policed and ticketed for age-appropriate behaviors and disciplinary matters such as littering, truancy, and underage drinking and smoking. …

This paper tracks the development of judicial understanding of labor unions’ status under Section 9 of the National Labor Relations Act as the “exclusive representative” of employees for the purposes of bargaining with the employer, focusing on the how the Supreme Court case Emporium Capwell v. Physical therapy educators must prepare students to navigate the ethical complexity and pressures of clinical practice. However, limited evidence exists regarding the best pedagogical strategies to develop future clinicians' ethical skills. This study aimed to explore how physical therapy ethics educators integrated their personal and professional experiences with academic elements when designing and implementing ethics instruction. The research draws from the semi-structured interviews of eight educators teaching ethics in Midwestern physical therapy programs to discover instructional patterns supporting student engagement with the content. Although historians have given close attention to the anti-vaccination movement that gripped late-Victorian England, relatively little scholarship explores how doctors and health officials responded or asks what strategies and assumptions structured how they might oppose the vaccine opponents. This article traces the advent and actions of the Jenner Society, a smallpox vaccination advocacy group founded in 1896 by Dr. Francis Bond. His goal was to publicly confront the leading anti-vaccinationists and to effectively conduct an anti-anti-vaccination campaign. Many entities could describe themselves as stakeholders in the process, stakeholders who were beholding motivations which they would describe as significant. “Marked by Valor: The ‘Lost’ History of the 6 th U.S.C.T., Heavy Artillery,” argues that the camaraderie of having been a Black Union soldier solidified a sub-culture of Black veterans and their families in Natchez, Mississippi, that cohered throughout the Reconstruction period using the tools and the affiliations first gained in slavery and strengthened during the soldiers’ time in the army. This is also the story that is recounted in scholarly histories of Colombo, in modern websites and in popular accounts of the history of the city. During their ascension to power the Nazi regime used propaganda to glorify Hitler. Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) are episodes of motor, sensory, and/or cognitive seizures without detectable epileptic activity. The integrative cognitive model conceptualizes PNES as an activation of learned mental representations of a seizure often combined with concurrent physiological arousal. PNES are not treatable by antiepileptic medications and are often accompanied by psychiatric and medical comorbidities, complicating treatment following diagnosis. Further, individuals with PNES often incur greater medical costs through hospital admissions and emergency department visits. Multidisciplinary care including behavioral health interventions like cognitive behavior therapy have demonstrated initial success at reducing seizure frequency but impacts on healthcare utilization are unknown.
