Predicting Employee Attrition With Machine Learning: Data-Driven Strategies For Enhancingworkforce Retention, Ali Almheiri
Predicting Employee Attrition With Machine Learning: Data-Driven Strategies For Enhancingworkforce Retention, Ali Almheiri
Theses
In this research, the dual prediction and prescription model is developed and validated so that this model can not only predict employee turnover risk, but it also proposes the appropriate retention interventions, which apply across industries. On the basis of the IBM HR Analytics Attrition dataset (n=1,470), we preprocessed demography, job and satisfaction variables and trained three machine-learning classifiers, Random Forest, Logistic Regression and XGBoost to predict voluntary turnover. XGBoost model recorded the best discrimination (AUC=0.87), sensitivity (0.76), and specificity (0.81), which signifies strong predictive power. Analysis of feature-importance was conclusive with time, rate of frequent business travel and compensation …

Brain injuries often result in varying degrees of impairment to communication and cognitive processes, impeding an individual’s ability to engage in daily activities, participate in social interactions, and achieve independence. This paper builds upon our legislative proposal from Designing An Americans With Abilities Act: Consciousness, Capabilities, and Civil Rights, published in the Boston College Law Review in 2022. That paper proposed new legislation called “The Americans with Abilities Act” (“AWAA”), a comprehensive framework for the effective development, uptake, and utilization of advanced assistive technology (“AT”). These technologies aid individuals with brain injuries in realizing their capabilities and reintegrating into broader …

Implementing Phq-2 In An Outpatient Mental Health Practice, Krishona Poignard
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Depression remains widely underidentified in outpatient behavioral health settings, where variable screening practices limit early recognition and appropriate treatment. This quality improvement project addressed this gap by standardizing screening through targeted clinician education. The purpose was to improve clinician confidence and adherence to validated tools, specifically the Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2) and, when indicated, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). The project aimed to increase consistent tool use through an evidence-based educational intervention guided by Lewin’s Change Theory and the Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework. A quasi-experimental, single-group pretest–posttest design was employed with licensed clinical staff, including licensed social workers (LSWs), …

Educational Program For Primary Care On Reducing Antibiotic Overuse For Upper Respiratory Infections, Adebusola Onwuemene
Educational Program For Primary Care On Reducing Antibiotic Overuse For Upper Respiratory Infections, Adebusola Onwuemene
Biennial Convention (CONV)
With the advent of antibiotics in 1928, the death rate declined (Fleming, 1980; Hoyert et al., 1999). However, antibiotics’ effectiveness led to the notion that antibiotics could be used for various illnesses. Thus, the overuse of antibiotics leaped, causing antibiotic resistance, rising healthcare costs, and increased mortality rates (CDC, 2024). Many research studies identified factors influencing antibiotic overuse for upper respiratory infections (URIs) in primary care, such as primary care providers’ ignorance, and patients’ expectations (Carlsson et al. , 2023; Gidengil et al., 2016). This study aimed to provide an educational program, via the Canva media tool, on reducing the …

This quantitative study examined the relationship between staff–leadership working conditions and student achievement outcomes in Kentucky high schools. This research makes use of extant data from the Impact Kentucky Working Conditions Survey for the 2023-2024 school year. The researcher particularly studied the correlation between teacher perceptions of trust, fairness, and support from principals and student achievement in the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA). Teacher perceptions of working conditions were generally favorable, though trust and perceptions of school leadership emerged as weaker areas. Correlation analyses indicated only weak, nonsignificant associations between leadership working conditions and student achievement outcomes at the statewide level. …

Multigenerational Teachers And Staff Experiences, Perceptions, And Preferences On Organizational Change Communication In Schools, Chrystal Louise Fields
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Organizational leaders’ failure to adopt effective change communication strategies in schools exacerbates teacher and staff shortages, compounding factors that undermine student outcomes and overall school effectiveness. Multigenerational teachers and staff must understand change communication strategies as a leading indicator of unsuccessful workforce and organizational change in schools. Grounded in social constructivist theory and conceptually informed by Goffman’s frame analysis, the purpose of this qualitative descriptive case study was to explore how multigenerational teachers and staff experience change communication as recipients and agents of change in schools. The participants consisted of 16 multigenerational teachers and staff members across four generations from …

Is There An Extension Discount For Agricultural Economics Faculty?, Siun Lee, Jeffrey Hyde, Yangxuan Liu, Rodolfo M. Nayga Jr, Wendong Zhang
Journal of Extension
Salary is an important aspect of one’s decision to pursue a particular career. This work compares the salaries of Agricultural Economics faculty members with and without Extension responsibilities across 19 departments in the US. We find that mean salaries for those with Extension appointments are significantly less than those without Extension appointments, ranging from a difference of $5,065 for assistant professors to $14,532 for full professors. We encourage administrators to acknowledge this “Extension Discount” and, if desired, make intentional decisions to reduce it. Doing so would serve to address recruiting challenges for Agricultural Economics Extension positions.

Purpose – This study aims to address the limited understanding of how leadership brand authenticity (LBA) translates into employee and customer outcomes in Islamic banking, a sector where ethical alignment and trust are critical but underexplored in existing literature. Specifically, it explores how LBA influences role clarity and customer responsiveness. It further examines whether role clarity serves as a key mechanism linking authentic leadership to customer-focused outcomes, and whether the bank’s country of origin (COO) shapes this relationship. By addressing both internal organizational alignment and external perceptions, this study offers a comprehensive view of value-driven leadership in Shariah-compliant financial institutions. …
Joint Action (In)Action: A Communicatively Constituted Examination Of Shared Governance, Organizational Sustainability, And The Future Of Liberal Arts In Institutions Of Higher Education, Rebecca R. Todd
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
There are at least two versions of higher education today. One is that universities and curriculum need to be reformed to suit contemporary exigencies, particularly market-driven logics and direct paths to desirable job and career outcomes. The other is the story in this dissertation, namely, that the liberal arts hold value for the creation of new knowledge, critical thinking, and empowerment. With this admittedly one-sided corrective to the dominant narrative of higher education, this abstract and dissertation begin.
In the contemporary landscape of American higher education, the liberal arts are under siege. Once heralded as the cornerstone of democratic citizenship …
