The implementation of Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) poses new challenges for hospitals as service providers. Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan, the program’s administrator, now routinely conducts post-claim verifications and audits after claims have been paid. This often results in claim adjustments or even full reversals of previously reimbursed amounts. This case study examines JKN claim management at a Type D General Hospital in 2022, focusing on pending claims, verification, and post-claim audits, using a systems theory framework. Key issues in pending claims include incomplete medical records (29%), insufficient supporting documents (24%), and coding errors (21%). Post-claim problems primarily …

In Indonesia, the prevalence of stroke increased from 8.3% in 2007 to 12.1% in 2013, with the age group of 55-64 years recording the highest prevalence. This study aims to analyse the actual costs of non-hemorrhagic stroke care for patients under the National Health Insurance (JKN) at the Islamic Hospital of Sunan Kudus using the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method. While there has been a tendency to suggest the authors’ comments on crime and punishment were peripheral and secondary to their major projects, such as Marx’s Capital, this paper claims, in fact, their writings on incarceration were guided by their shared theoretical project which included historicizing systems of punishment as correlating with modes of production. Coccolithophores comprise a major component of the oceanic carbon cycle. These unicellular algae produce ornate structures made of calcium carbonate, termed coccoliths, representing ~ 50% of calcite production in the open ocean. The exact molecular mechanisms which direct and control coccolith formation are unknown. In this study, we report on the presence and functional features of proteins within the coccoliths produced by a range of model coccolithophore species including: the globally abundant and well-studied Gephyrocapsa huxleyi (formerly Emiliania huxleyi) and related Gephyrocapsa oceanica, as well as the larger and more heavily calcified Coccolithus braarudii. The men were invited to contribute accounts of what was important in their lives and the practices that supported positive developments in their time at the facility. Young mothers can be negatively affected by dominant and degrading cultural narratives; their stories of resistance and activism are often rendered invisible in broader social contexts. Informed by collective narrative practice methodologies, we undertook a counter-storytelling research project to elicit and acknowledge the stories of survival and sustenance of young mothers in social movements responding to sexual and gender-based violence in East Africa. We facilitated storytelling circles, incorporating various story and knowledges collection methods. BACKGROUND: Training gaps regarding the diagnosis and management of eating disorders in diverse populations, including racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender minoritized groups, have not been thoroughly examined.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to examine resident physicians' knowledge and attitudes regarding eating disorders in diverse populations, with a focus on areas for improved training and intervention.

METHODS: Ninety-two resident physicians in internal medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, and surgery at an academic center completed an online survey from 12/1/2020-3/1/2021, which comprised multiple choice and vignette-style open-ended questions to assess knowledge and attitudes toward the management and clinical presentations of eating disorders. OBJECTIVE: This systematic search and review aimed to evaluate the available literature on discontinuation of adalimumab and other tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi) for patients with well-controlled chronic inflammatory arthritides.

METHODS: We conducted a publication search on adalimumab discontinuation from 2000-2023 using PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library. Included studies evaluated adalimumab discontinuation approaches, tapering schemes, and outcomes including successful discontinuation and recapture after flare, in patients with well-controlled disease. Studies included evaluated rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).

RESULTS: Forty-nine studies were included. Studies evaluating adalimumab alone were limited, and many reported TNFi outcomes …

BACKGROUND: Online grocery shopping is a growing source of food purchases in many countries. We investigated the effect of nudging consumers towards purchases of lower sodium products using a web browser extension.

METHODS: This trial was conducted among individuals with hypertension who shopped for their groceries online in Australia. From July 2021 to June 2023, participants were randomised to use the SaltSwitch Online Grocery Shopping web browser extension or continue their usual grocery shopping for 12 weeks.
