The Influence Of Various Marketing Ages On The Growth, Carcass Characteristics, And Economic Indices Of Broiler Chickens, Seham, F. Shehata, Mohamed M.M. Elsokary Jan 2024

The Influence Of Various Marketing Ages On The Growth, Carcass Characteristics, And Economic Indices Of Broiler Chickens, Seham, F. Shehata, Mohamed M.M. Elsokary

Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal

The global population continues to increase, which drives up demand for broiler meat. Furthermore, the production cycle's duration and the decisions made regarding broiler marketing are important factors, along with productivity and profitability. In this study, the effects of different marketing ages (MA) on carcass characteristics, economic indicators, and broiler chicken production were investigated. A total of 200 male, one-day-old chick Cobb-500 broilers were used. The chicks were divided at random into four equal groups of five replicates. At 35, 42, 49, and 56 days old, distinct marketing ages for broilers were reached. At various marketing ages, performance indicators were …

A Narrative Review On Pathophysiology And The Trends In Preventing Colon Anastomotic Leakage In Animals, Mohammed Albahrawy, Marwa Abass, Esam Mosbah, Gamal Karrouf, Adel Zaghloul Jan 2024

A Narrative Review On Pathophysiology And The Trends In Preventing Colon Anastomotic Leakage In Animals, Mohammed Albahrawy, Marwa Abass, Esam Mosbah, Gamal Karrouf, Adel Zaghloul

Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal

Intestinal healing normally proceeds through three stages: the inflammatory, proliferative, and maturation stages. Dehiscence, a disastrous outcome of intestinal anastomosis surgery, usually happens during the inflammatory stage of recovery, when the anastomotic technique (suture or staple line) has the greatest influence on the biomechanical strength of the anastomosis. Because of the severe systemic abnormalities and financial load brought on by septic peritonitis and the need for a second surgery, the ensuing septic peritonitis is linked to an astounding morbidity rate of up to 85%.

Despite the relatively high frequency of anastomosis surgeries, anastomotic leaks pose a deadly risk to colon …

Early Post-Hatching Development Of The Grass Carp Pancreas, Eman Fiala, Mahmoud B. Shoeib, Safwat Ebada, Ahmed M. Abdellatif

Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal

INTRODUCTION: The pancreas is a mixed gland that plays indispensable roles in digestion and glucose uptake. Grass carp [Ctenopharyngodon idella (C. idella)] is a cyprinid fish used in aquaculture, medicine, and research. Knowledge about the early posthatching development of grass carp pancreas is lacking.

OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to elucidate the morphogenic events involving the pancreas of C. idella during the early posthatching period.

METHODS: Developmental steps involving the pancreas of C. idella during the early post-hatching period were studied using histological, histochemical, and morphometric techniques. Larvae were collected at 1-day posthatching (1 dph), 4 dph, …

Ameh, Casmir Ifeanyichukwu Cejetan Ifeanyi Dr., Benshak John Audu, Hafsat Jagab, Job Gideon

Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal

Objective: To study the molecular characterization of three virulence genes and phenotypic detection of extended spectrum beta-lactam-producing enzymes in Proteus mirabilis isolates from fish in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Design: cross-sectional study.

Animal: A total of 400 fish were purchased from various markets and sites in the Federal Capital Territory. Thirteen (32.5%) P. mirabilis isolates were obtained. This study used amoxicillin with clavulanate and ceftazidime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, to treat all phenotypically typed isolates utilizing Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactam (ESBL). Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was used for molecular characterization to identify the pathogenic genes of interest, including ure …

Anatomical And Histological Features Of The Brain Of Adult Common Carp (Cyprinus Carpio), Sayed Shaban, Galal Youssef, Safwat Ebada, Mahmoud B. Shoeib

Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal

Background: investigated the anatomical features and histological structures of the brain of adult common carp. In addition, these features were compared with those of other types of fish.

Methods: Adult fish (8- 18 M) were collected, their gross anatomical features were inspected; and small specimens from different brain parts were fixed, sectioned, stained, and histologically examined.

Results: In the common carp, the olfactory bulb was round, somewhat tiny, and connected to the telencephalon by a very long, thin olfactory tract. The hemispheres of the telencephalon were located rostrally. Only one median ventral telencephalic ventricle was visible. The torus longitudinalis and …

Students For Fair Admissions: Affirming Affirmative Action And Shapeshifting Towards Cognitive Diversity?, Steven A. Ramirez Jan 2024

Students For Fair Admissions: Affirming Affirmative Action And Shapeshifting Towards Cognitive Diversity?, Steven A. Ramirez

Seattle University Law Review

The Roberts Court holds a well-earned reputation for overturning Supreme Court precedent regardless of the long-standing nature of the case. The Roberts Court knows how to overrule precedent. In Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (SFFA), the Court’s majority opinion never intimates that it overrules Grutter v. Bollinger, the Court’s leading opinion permitting race-based affirmative action in college admissions. Instead, the Roberts Court applied Grutter as authoritative to hold certain affirmative action programs entailing racial preferences violative of the Constitution. These programs did not provide an end point, nor did they require assessment, review, periodic expiration, or revision for greater …
