This dissertation explored the efficacy of promotional products as marketing nudges for new market entrants. It employs Nudge Theory, a measure used to induce behavioral changes (Thaler & Sunstein, 2021), to analyze their influence on human behavior and decision-making. Through voluntary surveys, participants' brand awareness was assessed, examining changes in branding awareness and general brand perception by using promotional products as a catalyst.

Using Legitimation Code Theory (Lct) To Define And Track The Practice Of The Scholarship Of Teaching And Learning, Mark Brooke, Daron Loo, Chloe Wong
International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
In this article, we demonstrate how Legitimation Code Theory (LCT) can be enacted to explore the nature of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in higher education. Specialization and semantics from LCT are applied to define SoTL practice and map cumulative knowledge building processes. As members of the Faculty Development Committee (FDC), we enact LCT tools to conceptualize our professional development. We provide SoTL narratives as well as vignettes depicting how LCT led to positive transformative learning. The article concludes that LCT tools, with their explanatory power, can be utilized to form highly effective components of a faculty development program.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is revolutionizing education, echoing historic shifts such as the emergence of the codex and the printing press. GAI automates complex tasks and personalizes learning to individual needs, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration and bolstering critical thinking and ethical reasoning skills. Initiatives in new, innovative programming illustrate the benefits of embedding these generative technologies to foster cultural competence and innovative problem-solving. This study examines the effects of acute exposure to crystal violet (CV) on the freshwater zooplankton Daphnia pulex in response to growing concerns over synthetic dyes from industrial runoff in aquatic ecosystems. The primary objective is to assess CV's impact on D. pulex's heart rate, mobility, morphology, and lethality via a series of acute exposure tests. 48-h acute toxicity (0-2000 μg/L), 48-h immobilization (0-180 μg/L), and 9-h heart rate (0-2,000 μg/L) tests were conducted using third-generation daphnids, followed by stereomicroscopic examination and statistical analysis. A study of iconic brands clarifies how a design is successfully executed. This directed project includes research on a selection of the 24 coral species currently listed as threatened or endangered, these being at high risk of extinction. Climate change of the Anthropocene era and associated human-induced pollution impacts have resulted in most of the Earth’s coral reefs experiencing increased coral bleaching and coral death events. Our planet’s coral reefs are the main habitat to 25% of the world’s fish population. These coral habitats have also supported innumerous coastal communities in cultural, economic, social, and spiritual respects for millennia. As reliance on digital media and social media platforms such as YouTube increases, health organizations infuse rhetorical strategies to create memorable and impactful health-related videos to raise awareness and attract support. Nonprofit healthcare organizations use digital storytelling to communicate their impact. In this study, I conduct a rhetorical analysis of five digital storytelling videos shared on the YouTube pages of nonprofit healthcare organizations to: identify how the videos leverage rhetorical appeals, point-of-view (POV), and metadata; and discuss how such strategies might influence viewer engagement or brand objectives. Objective: This study assesses the efficacy of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) in enhancing tooth brushing skills in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Material and Method: The research utilized a prospective interventional strategy, encompassing 54 children aged 4 to 18 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants were trained across two sessions, separated by a two-week interval, to adhere to a systematic tooth-brushing protocol utilizing PECS. This study focuses on the bioaccumulation and biomagnification of mercury in freshwater food webs, with emphasis on bioindicators, such as macroinvertebrates, crayfish, and river otters. Despite regulatory efforts and advancements in monitoring, significant gaps remain in understanding mercury dynamics in freshwater systems—especially regarding its transport, methylation, and bioavailability across different ecosystems. To address these knowledge gaps, this study adopts a biocentric approach, emphasizing the role of living organisms in their environment. The focus of this dissertation study was to understand the facilitators and barriers to asthma health care as viewed by pediatric primary care providers and caregivers of school-aged children with asthma. While visual literacy pedagogy in teacher preparation programs has been a recognized body of knowledge the past few decades, limited research centers upon secondary teachers who are responsible for integrating visual literacy into content instruction. This study explored how 32 secondary English language arts and social studies pre-service teachers (PSTs) utilized visual displays to teach content in their classrooms. PSTs were tasked with developing instructional strategies based on five commonly used visuals in social studies texts: photographs, images, maps, tables and flowcharts. Building a brand means looking beyond a product or organization and finding an aspirational vision that creates value for the consumer. Through my design work, I want to transform products and other subject matter and transform them into unique, powerful experiences. By using intentional design choices, I can create effective visual communication. My design centers on strong hierarchy, bold color, and clear typography that creates attractive, memorable, and distinct visual identities.
