How Will Ai Impact Knowledge Sharing Within Construction Clustering? Bringing Back The Conversation On Social Contagion Within Construction Clusters, Oluwasegun O. Seriki, Mark Mulville, Ruairi Hayden

Conference Papers

Construction clusters and innovation systems play a crucial role in enhancing competitiveness and fostering sustainable development in the construction sector. These clusters facilitate knowledge sharing, interactive learning, and collaborative innovation among firms, institutions, and other stakeholders. The success of construction clusters depends on numerous factors, including firm size, economic climate, and attitudes towards innovation. While some clusters transform into innovation systems by becoming tacit-knowledge intensive, there is not much data or investigation into how they may adapt to changing demands spurred by advances in artificial intelligence (AI). There is some preliminary research highlighting the lack of dispersed innovation networks within …

Educators’ Perceptions Of World Language Curriculum Models, Curriculum Coherence, And Student Learning In New Jersey High School Spanish Programs, Thomas David Pratz

Theses and Dissertations

This mixed-methods explanatory sequential study aimed to identify the most commonly used World Language curriculum models in New Jersey high schools, assess the level of curriculum coherence in Spanish programs, and examine their impact on student learning. Surveys and interviews with high school Spanish teachers revealed that, while theoretical curriculum coherence exists in most programs, it is not significantly associated with teacher or district characteristics such as experience, tenure, region, or type. A disconnect was also observed between the World Language curriculum models, perceived curriculum coherence levels, and their effects on student learning. Several themes that emerged from the qualitative …

Revisiting The Impact Of Container Port Service Quality On Customer Satisfaction: A Configuration Approach, Saeyeon Roh, Haddoud M Yacine, Adah-Kole Onjewu, Hyunmi Jang, Vinh V. Thai

Plymouth Business School

In global port competitions, container port service quality (CPSQ) plays a critical role in determining user satisfaction and port competitiveness. Despite numerous empirical research efforts on the relationship between CPSQ and customer satisfaction, few studies have analysed the configurational effects of CPSQ on customer satisfaction. To address a gap in research, this study examines the factors that influence customer satisfaction among port users, including cargo owners and logistics service providers. The focus is on container ports in non-transshipment ports in South Korea, as well as a transshipment port in Singapore, which are representative of major global maritime countries. In this …

The Shaky Democratic Legitimacy Of Cosmopolitan Law And Its Destiny In Times Of Crisis, Sergio Dellavalle Dec 2024

The Shaky Democratic Legitimacy Of Cosmopolitan Law And Its Destiny In Times Of Crisis, Sergio Dellavalle

Buffalo Law Review

From its earliest introduction in 1795, the notion of cosmopolitan law has made a long way, to finally become an established reference point in the legal discourse. Nonetheless, the concept still raises four fundamental questions. The first focuses on how it has been developed and which were the fundamental authors and theoretical steps that characterized the emergence of this notion. The second and most essential question refers to the meaning of cosmopolitan law by focusing on what characterizes the legal norms that we call cosmopolitan as well as on what distinguishes them from the broader field of traditional international law. …

Improving Compliance In Missed Visits Documentation, Ma Rosalie Felix

Master's Projects and Capstones

Problem: Within the South Bay Hospice Agency, documentation compliance for missed visits was 68% in the first quarter of 2024, when the national standard should be 100% according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Context: Inadequate nurse documentation and communication between health professionals can lead to medical errors, poor team communication and suboptimal patient outcomes (Tasew et al., 2019). Therefore, the importance of documentation compliance is imperative. Hospice staff perform scheduled visits for terminally ill patients 1-2 times a week; however, a missed visit can occur when a patient declines it for a variety of reasons.

Persons Or Human-Mimicking Robots? Implications Of Ai For Moral Status, Kate Burckle, Catherine Peters Dec 2024

Persons Or Human-Mimicking Robots? Implications Of Ai For Moral Status, Kate Burckle, Catherine Peters

Honors Thesis

Rapid progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in which AI technologies can now perform human tasks, e.g. hold advanced conversations, cook, clean, and navigate harsh terrain, blurs the line between humans and robots. The emergence of advanced AI technologies suggests that AI programs may develop consciousness in the near future, prompting important questions: if AIs attain abilities to perform the same tasks and exercise capacities traditionally limited to humans, do they deserve similar moral status? If so, what treatment would we owe to them? Through examination of competing accounts of personhood and moral status, this paper seeks to …

Introduction

Nurse practitioner-led clinics (NPLC) represent a model of care that has the potential to enhance primary healthcare delivery to community-dwelling adults who are living with chronic disease by providing greater access and continuity of care and reducing the burden on acute care settings. However, there is limited understanding of nurse practitioners’ experiences and perspectives on supporting adults in chronic disease management within an NPLC model of care. Increased understanding would contribute to our ability to evaluate the effectiveness of the NPLC model of care for chronic disease management.

Objective

This study explored current chronic disease management practices implemented by …
