Five (5) FGDs were organized, each with 8 to 10 teachers. Insights were highlighted by teachers from urban and rural contexts. Urban schoolteachers demonstrated a better understanding of SEL as compared to rural schoolteachers. The main themes identified during the analysis were teachers' …

Wade4 and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey.
5 Abortion, it explained, differed from other protected acts because abortion destroyed potential life.6 Deeming rational basis review appropriate,7 the Court concluded that the Mississippi law was rationally related to what the Court accepted as legitimate state …

The Public’S Companies, Andrew K. Jennings
Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law
This Essay uses a series of survey studies to consider how public understandings of public and private companies map into urgent debates over the role of the corporation in American society. May corporate managers pursue environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) policies that could reduce short-term or long-term profits? How should companies respond to political pushback against their approaches to free expression or ESG?
The studies’ results are consistent with understandings that both public and private companies have greater public …

To Legitimacy And Beyond: A Reform Agenda To Restore Public Confidence In The Federal Courts, Charles G. Geyh
Articles by Maurer Faculty
The article begins by describing he ongoing cycle of anti-court sentiment directed at the federal courts. It situates that cycle in historical context, to the end of showing how independence norms have evolved to constrain more draconian efforts to curb the courts in those cycles. The article then explains why the latest cycle is unusually aggressive and why norms that have protected the judiciary’s independence for generations may be at risk if public skepticism of the courts reaches the point of undermining the judiciary’s perceived legitimacy. Next, the article sorts through the definitional clutter that complicates assessments of whether the …

The study of shared leadership is growing to address the challenges faced in an increasingly dynamic and interdependent workplace. Shared leadership under the right conditions has been found to be related to team adaptability, creativity, and effectiveness. However, there is growing research on the conditions that limit or enhance the effectiveness of shared leadership. Specifically, it was proposed that teams which are more made than bought (internally developed) should adopt a shared leadership model. In contrast, teams that are more bought than made (developed externally) should use a traditional hierarchical team leadership model. Using data from the National Basketball Association …
