Determinants Of Asset Growth Premium: Evidence From Thailand, Ramita Raksakunpanich

This study investigates the asset growth anomaly in the Thai stock market, examining whether new factor constructed from decomposed asset components offers superior explanatory power for stock returns compared to the original aggregate asset growth factor. The research analyzes key components of total assets, including both sides of the balance sheet covering investing and financing activities. Our findings reveal that all the new factors constructing based on each component of asset is spanned by all the Fama-French factor. The overall explanatory power of total asset growth is superior. This suggests that total asset growth is the best predictor of investment …

This study investigates the impact of Morningstar Sustainability Ratings on Thai mutual fund flows, focusing on three aspects: the impact of the ratings' introduction, the differential effects of varying ESG ratings, and the influence of ESG ratings during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis encompasses various methodological approaches, including event studies, propensity score matching, cross-sectional, and panel regression analyses, to provide comprehensive insights into investor behavior to Morningstar Sustainability Ratings. This study investigates Augmented Reality-based Steady-State Visual Evoked Potentials (AR-SSVEP) in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems, utilizing Extended Filter Bank Canonical Correlation Analysis (Extended-FBCCA) for SSVEP recognition optimization across various frequencies in various scenarios. The 10 Hz stimulus consistently achieves the highest recognition accuracy. Frequency-specific variations at 12 Hz, 13 Hz, and 15 Hz highlight nuanced SSVEP responses. White stimuli yield PC-SSVEP recognition ranging from 68.32% to 81.98%, slightly outperforming AR-SSVEP-Controlled (63.59% to 73.23%). Red stimuli impact AR-SSVEP-Controlled less than PC-SSVEP, with recognition ranges of 68.65% to 76.30% and 67.97% to 76.72%, respectively. This study investigates how investors in Thailand's stock market react to extreme losses and gains, focusing on underpricing and overpricing phenomena. The objective is to analyze these market behaviors and trading strategies comprehensively. We employ statistical methods, including the Carhart four-factor model, to assess risk-adjusted performance and explore the effects of capital gains overhang and investor sentiment on stock returns. Our methodology involves forming quintile portfolios based on extreme loss and gain returns, using Winsorizing to handle outliers. The future of meat substitutes for China's sustainable food system was examined in this dissertation. Influence of media agenda-setting, consumer perception, preferences, and experts' opinions towards sustainable meat systems were investigated by text mining, online questionnaire survey, and stakeholder in-depth interviews. Integration of the agenda-setting concerning meat substitutes with the 2022 Chinese government dietary policy and the influence of articles in mainstream news is recommended. This study explored communication competence, small-group communication competence, and the attitudes of lower secondary EFL students towards communication competence in an online project-based learning approach in Myanmar. The study used a mixed-methods research design that integrated surveys, semi-structured interviews, and observations. The study discovered that lower secondary EFL students' online communication competence was slightly high, approaching sufficing competence, while their small-group communication competence in online PBL learning settings was moderately high, approaching maximizing competence. This study explores how digital tools enhance sustainable livelihoods for Myanmar mixed migrants in Thailand and examines how digital resources integrate into livelihood strategies for self-reliance and socio-economic well-being using a modified Sustainable Livelihood Framework. Insights from key informants’ experiences, and stakeholder perspectives reveal that mixed migrants leverage strong human and social capital, showing adaptability and resilience, which can lead to sustainable livelihoods with digital engagement. However, major challenges in financial stability, digital access, natural resources, and social inclusion require further support.

This research examines how the historical Korean drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella" (2022) portrays modern Korean society. By comparing the societal depictions within the drama with contemporary Korean society, it analyzes the benefits and drawbacks of using historical dramas to represent modern social issues. The researcher primarily uses Stuart Hall's theory of representation as a framework. Durian fruit possesses high nutritional value due to its enriched bioactive compounds such as phenolics, carotenoids, and vitamins. While various transcription factors (TFs) regulate the phenylpropanoid biosynthetic pathway, MYB TFs play a pivotal role in controlling key genes in this pathway. In this study, we identified candidate v-Myb myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog, MYB TFs from our transcriptome database of the Monthong cultivar including five developmental/postharvest ripening stages. MYBs that were upregulated during the ripening stage were considered as candidate transcriptional activators, based on the positive correlation observed between flavonoid biosynthetic genes and flavonoid contents in ripe durian pulps. Commentators speculate on the cases’ impact outside of the courtroom — on the 2024 election, on political polarization, and on the future of American democracy. Such cases originated in the prosecutor’s office, begging the question of if, when, and how prosecutors should consider the societal effects of the cases they bring.

Short train rail lines across the United States are seeing increased national funding to reduce toxic chemical spills caused by train derailments, the most notable of which happened in February 2023 in East Palestine, Ohio. A year prior, the film White Noise (2022) featured a similar toxic train derailment incident, taking place, too, in Eastern Ohio, and featuring actors from the town of East Palestine. This article revisits the debate between James Buchanan and Warren Samuels over Miller v. Schoene (1928). The initial court case—concerning the rights of government in the face of conflicting private interests—and subsequent debate between Buchanan and Samuels have important implications for the interrelations between legal and economic processes, the difference between a normative and positive theory of public choice, and the nature of public choice more generally. In published papers and private correspondence, the writings of Samuels reveal an alternative conception of public choice theory as a positive endeavor divorced from the free market normative implications of Buchanan’s work. The measurement of the permanent electric dipole moment of the neutron (nEDM) plays a significant role in searching for sources of beyond standard model CP violating physics. The goal of the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) nEDM experiment is to push the upper limit of the nEDM to < 3 × 10−27 e·cm (68 % CL). A highly uniform magnetic field is key to achieving this sensitivity for the nEDM measurement by reducing the systematic uncertainties associated with the magnetic field non-uniformity. The B0 coil was designed to achieve a field uniformity of < 0.3 nT·m−1 at a nominal holding field of 1 µT. This document will outline a novel technique employed in the construction of the B0 coil using printed circuit boards (PCBs) and will present preliminary field maps obtained with the B0 coil housed in a magnetically shielded room (MSR) at LANL.

As Ultra Cold Neutrons (UCNs) move from the source to the measurement cells, the UCNs experience a large magnetic field gradient in the region between the layers of the MSR. A fundamental question in natural language processing is - what kind of language structure and semantics is the language model capturing? Graph formats such as knowledge graphs are easy to evaluate as they explicitly express language semantics and structure. This study evaluates the semantics encoded in the self-attention transformers by leveraging explicit knowledge graph structures. This study investigated how employees’ perceptions of an organization’s dialogic employee communication influence their evaluations of their positive and negative relationships with the organization. The study further examined how employees’ relationship assessments could drive their intentions for positive and negative megaphoning about their organizations. To test the differentiating effects of dialogic employee communication on positive and negative employee-organization relationships (EORs) and, subsequently, employee megaphoning intentions, we used a dual measure with the positive and the negative EORs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, fourteen states had banned abortion entirely, and experts estimate the ultimate number of states imposing complete or near-complete restrictions on abortion care will likely rise to twenty-four. The current majority of the Supreme Court has significantly increased access to firearms. In last year’s New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen decision, the majority curtailed legislative options for protecting U.S. citizens from the danger presented by unfettered access to life-threatening weapons. The majority refused to acknowledge the danger inherent in firearms and the substantive difference in function between an antique flintlock and an AK-47.
