To overcome the problems of livestock farming, cultured meat technologies have been developed. Cultured meat is an alternative way to produce meat by culturing cells in vitro using tissue engineering technology. The construction of cultured meat requires a scaffold to support cell proliferation and differentiation. Herein this research, polysaccharides namely high acyl gellan gum (HG) and konjac (KJ) together with a plant-based protein, soy protein isolate (SP) were used to develop scaffolds for cultured meat production. The composite scaffolds were prepared by freeze-drying and followed by ionic crosslinking. The composition of HG, KJ, and SP had a strong influence on …

Heavy Metal Distribution Pattern And Potential Ecological Risk In Roadside Soils As A Function Of Highway Traffic, Wassamon Thongaiod
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Roadside soil contamination by heavy metals due to traffic pollution presents a significant environmental concern. Assessing concentration levels and evaluating ecological risks are crucial steps toward understanding and mitigating this issue. This study focuses on soil properties and the presence of arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), and zinc (Zn) along two high-traffic highways in Thailand. The empirical geological background was determined by sampling the parent materials. Out of 40 roadside soil surface samples collected, the average levels of Cu, Pb, and Zn surpass background concentrations. Significant differences in heavy metal concentrations between the two highways …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Foodborne illness is a significant global public health concern, impacting both the economy and human health. These illnesses are caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, toxins, and chemicals. This research developed two technology platforms for Bacillus cereus and tropane alkaloid compounds detections. First, traditional detection methods for B. cereus have limitations in long analysis time, and dependence on analysis and interpretation by skilled personnel. Therefore, this study introduces a robust detection method using peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) bearing with a prolyl-2-aminocyclopentanecarboxylic acid (ACPC) backbone as probes in a bead array method. PNAs with groEL, motB, and 16S rRNA sequences were covalently …
Synthesis Of Mixed Metal High Entropy Oxyhalide For Photocatalytic Degradation Of Tetracycline, Chakgrid Noomak
Synthesis Of Mixed Metal High Entropy Oxyhalide For Photocatalytic Degradation Of Tetracycline, Chakgrid Noomak
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
High entropy materials (HEMs) are new types of materials that contain five or more elements. HEMs have been applied in various applications. It has been proven that HEMs with multielement can provide good structural stability. However, the application of HEMs in the field of photocatalytic has rarely been reported. Therefore, it is interesting to construct HEMs to be used as photocatalysts. In this work, we designed and fabricated a mixed metal high entropy halide (SrxBa1-xBiO2Br), a novel photocatalyst that contains five elements in the structure, by incorporating metals (Sr and Ba) into bismuth oxybromide material (BiOBr) to enhance their stability …
