Performance Comparison Of Weak And Strong Learners In Detecting Gps Spoofing Attacks On Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Uavs), Aydan Gasimova
Performance Comparison Of Weak And Strong Learners In Detecting Gps Spoofing Attacks On Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Uavs), Aydan Gasimova
Theses and Dissertations
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems (UAVs) are widely used in civil and military applications. These systems rely on trustworthy connections with various nodes in their network to conduct their safe operations and return-to-home. These entities consist of other aircrafts, ground control facilities, air traffic control facilities, and satellite navigation systems. Global positioning systems (GPS) play a significant role in UAV's communication with different nodes, navigation, and positioning tasks. However, due to the unencrypted nature of the GPS signals, these vehicles are prone to several cyberattacks, including GPS meaconing, GPS spoofing, and jamming. Therefore, this thesis aims at conducting a detailed comparison …

The MCMI-IV is a personality scale that attempts to measure psychopathology as well as normal personality functioning. The MCMI-IV has a number of validity scales designed to measure over-reporting and under-reporting of psychological symptoms. No research has been done on the MCMI-IV’s ability to discriminate between respondents who are either over-reporting or under-reporting symptoms. Studies on previous versions of the test suggest elevations on the validity scale Y and elevations on personality scales 4, 5, and 7 in clients who are underreporting symptoms. Previous research also suggests elevations on the validity scale X and Z in clients who are over-reporting …
Whole Fruit Consumption, 100% Fruit Juice Consumption, And Cardiovascular Disease (Cvd) In U.S. Adults: Analysis Of 2019 Brfss, Brendan James Kesler
Whole Fruit Consumption, 100% Fruit Juice Consumption, And Cardiovascular Disease (Cvd) In U.S. Adults: Analysis Of 2019 Brfss, Brendan James Kesler
Theses and Dissertations
The consumption of whole fruit is well established to promote health and prevent disease. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans includes both whole fruit and 100% fruit juice in its intake recommendations. Compositional differences between whole fruit and 100% fruit juice may exist especially with regard to health-promoting dietary fiber. Based on potential compositional differences, a primary hypothesis was created: whole fruit consumption frequency will be lower in adults with less favorable cardiovascular measures. Additionally, a secondary hypothesis was created: 100% fruit juice consumption frequency will be higher in adults with less favorable cardiovascular measures. To explore the hypothesis, a cross-sectional, …
Non-Mendelian Segregation Of The Maize Embryo-Specific Mutation Und-9, Christopher D. Larson
Non-Mendelian Segregation Of The Maize Embryo-Specific Mutation Und-9, Christopher D. Larson
Theses and Dissertations
The maize mutant UND-9 is being studied in our lab as part of a larger study into the genes responsible for embryo development in maize. It is known as an embryo-specific mutant, which causes the embryo of the maize kernel to fail to develop fully while not hindering the development of the endosperm. During this study, it was discovered that the inheritance of this mutation appeared to behave in a manner contrary to the normal laws of Mendelian inheritance. This paper represents a deeper study into the mechanisms of this behavior, analyzing the data collected so far and in particular …

A Methodology Of Hacking Domestic Unmanned Aerial Systems, Ty Douglass Lofstrom
Theses and Dissertations
Small unmanned aerial systems stand the greatest chance of exploit from cybersecurity attacks more than any other UAS platform due to their low-cost, availability, and ease of use. A new scenario-based threat model specific to UAS was developed. This thesis has examined, identified, and characterized a sample of those specific cybersecurity vulnerabilities through that UAS threat model framework.Due to the large growth in small unmanned aerial systems, from military and academic applications to more personal recreational use-cases there has been an equally proportional rise in cybersecurity threats that prey on vulnerabilities of these UASs systems. Hackers often seek out these …
Improved Pressure Loss And Multiphase Flow Behavior Predictions For In-Line Gas-Liquid Contactors Using Experimental Measurements And Cfd Simulations, Evan Lowry
Theses and Dissertations
Treatment of gas by liquid absorption is a common unit operation in industry. Traditionally, contact between the gas and liquid is accomplished in co-current flow utilizing a tower or column. With the increased demand for natural gas and renewable gas, higher treating capacities for new installations and methods for de-bottlenecking existing plants are needed. Co-current gas treating with static mixers is an increasingly attractive alternative for process intensification. The corrugated plate (SMV-style) mixer is currently the most widely used mixing element for gas-continuous mixing with a liquid phase and has been recommended as the best standard option for this service. …

Effects Of Small Molecule Fak Activators On Gastrointestinal Mucosal Healing, Sema Oncel
Effects Of Small Molecule Fak Activators On Gastrointestinal Mucosal Healing, Sema Oncel
Theses and Dissertations
Gastrointestinal (GI) ulcers are common worldwide. The persistence of noxious agents such as gastric acid, pepsin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and inflammation caused by inflammatory bowel disease breaks down the mucosal barrier and causes mucosal injury in the GI tract. Currently available therapeutics such as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2-antagonists), antibiotics, and corticosteroids all attempt to minimize injury by reducing the symptoms of GI pathology, however, they do not directly promote mucosal healing. NSAIDs increase the development of both upper and lower GI ulcers. PPIs ameliorate upper GI injury; however, PPIs actually worsen NSAID distal enteropathy by …
The Effects Of The Alpha1a Adrenergic Receptor In Modulating Psychiatric Symptoms, Jason Power
The Effects Of The Alpha1a Adrenergic Receptor In Modulating Psychiatric Symptoms, Jason Power
Theses and Dissertations
The adrenergic system plays a key role in the treatment and understanding of the etiology of mental illnesses. Despite antidepressants having the effect of reducing the reuptake of specific neurotransmitters, such as norepinephrine (NE), the mechanism of the antidepressant effect is poorly understood. It is apparent that antidepressants increase the rate of neurogenesis occurring within the hippocampal region of the brain with the hippocampus found to have an increased density around the time of symptom improvement (rate plateaus after 4-8 weeks after treatment). With an increased rate of neurogenesis taking ~1 month to occur, it was hypothesized that treatment with …
An Indepth Look On Earth-Anchoring Through Architectural Treatments To Mitigate Psychological And Psychosocial Issues During Long-Duration Spaceflight, Skye Elizabeth Schwartz
An Indepth Look On Earth-Anchoring Through Architectural Treatments To Mitigate Psychological And Psychosocial Issues During Long-Duration Spaceflight, Skye Elizabeth Schwartz
Theses and Dissertations
Astronauts' mental health is of significant concern for any spaceflight mission. For low-Earth orbit (LEO) spaceflights, crews are four to six hours away from home. They can still see planet Earth, and if there is an emergency, there are escape routes; however, when it comes to long-duration spaceflights millions of miles away from home, crews cannot see planet Earth, cannot turn around in an emergency and are on their own in a monotone and sterile environment. These desensitizing conditions directly impact astronauts’ psychological and psychosocial well-being. Crews must learn how to interact with each other for an extended period, considering …
Willow, Abuelo, & Me, Robin Jewel Smith
Willow, Abuelo, & Me, Robin Jewel Smith
Theses and Dissertations
My dissertation, Willow, Abuelo & Me is a collection of 50 poems that interrogates the site of deep childhood sexual trauma that I experienced when I was five years old at the hands of my step-grandfather, and the consequences of that trauma on my adult life. This collection has several strands woven together in order to come to understand and relay this trauma. The first strand is a poetic retelling of dark Germanic fairy tales where children are often put through tests by their abusive caretakers. The second being “breaks” from the darkness or moments of brevity and light to …

Indigenizing The Outbreak Narrative: How Lee Maracle, Richard Van Camp, And Cherie Dimaline Critique Settler Colonialism And Medical Racism, Deanne Michelle Sparks
Theses and Dissertations
The dissertation analyzes how Lee Maracle's Ravensong, Richard Van Camp's "I Am Filled with a Trembling Heart", and Cherie Dimaline's The Marrow Thieves critique the traditional outbreak narrative structures identified by Charles Rosenberg and Priscilla Wald. Specifically, these Indigenous texts decenter the microbe for a more miasmic perspective that takes into consideration how settler colonialism and medical racism complicates the disease experience and its social epidemic.
Stimulus Discrimination Training And Its Effects On Generalization Gradients, Christopher Veenstra
Stimulus Discrimination Training And Its Effects On Generalization Gradients, Christopher Veenstra
Theses and Dissertations
Adaptation-level theory has been used to explain how the size and shape of generalization gradients depend on the procedure used to study generalization. However, most of the empirical support for this theory has come from studies using a relatively simple stimulus dimension (e.g., lights that vary in brightness). In addition, much of the research has focused on one specific prediction of adaptation-level theory: that responding during a generalization test should shift towards intermediate values within the tested portion of the stimulus dimension. The present research used a more complex set of stimuli. Specifically, the stimulus dimension was based on bar …
Generating Binder Inputs In Pavement Me For North Dakota’S Conditions, Andebut Tilahun Yeneneh
Generating Binder Inputs In Pavement Me For North Dakota’S Conditions, Andebut Tilahun Yeneneh
Theses and Dissertations
There is a broad consensus that the current mechanistic-empirical pavement design guideline (MEPDG) is an improvement from the earlier empirical-based design approaches. The lack of comprehensive material input databases for bound and unbound layers remains challenging. This study developed a database for binders used in typical hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixes in North Dakota by measuring their complex shear modulus (|G*|) and associated phase angle (δ) at unaged, short-term aged, and long-term aged conditions. Binder viscosity was also measured in these three aged states. Additionally, this study used existing models to predict (|G*|) and δ and compared them to measured …
Possible Role Of The Storm-Generated Streamwise Vorticity In Tornado Intensification And Evolution, Lance Reed Wilson
Possible Role Of The Storm-Generated Streamwise Vorticity In Tornado Intensification And Evolution, Lance Reed Wilson
Theses and Dissertations
Streamwise vorticity developing within the forward flank (FF) of supercell thunderstorms has been found to modulate the intensity of the low-level mesocyclone. However, few studies have quantitatively investigated FF vorticity contributions to low-level mesocyclone intensity. This study investigates the relative contribution of streamwise vorticity within the FF to the low-level mesocyclone strength using two Cloud Model 1 simulations with 75 m horizontal grid spacing initialized with the 18Z Jackson, MS, special sounding from the environment that produced the 27 April 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado. Vorticity budgets were calculated along forward trajectories that enter the low-level mesocyclone. Trajectories traversing through the FF …
Investigation Of Transient Multiphase Flow Performance In Undulating Horizontal Unconventional Wells, Youcef Khetib
Investigation Of Transient Multiphase Flow Performance In Undulating Horizontal Unconventional Wells, Youcef Khetib
Theses and Dissertations
Unconventional resources development was made possible by the combination of long horizontal wells and a multistage hydraulic fracture technique; this configuration enabled operators to reach economical flowrates besides the low permeabilities. For liquid rich basins like the Williston basin, the wells tend to show a high flow rate peaks during the first 24 months followed by a rapid decline and a relatively stable low flow rate and long period. Due to pressure decline liberating the dissolved gas and due to low flow velocities caused by low flowrate the wells flow intermittently, and oil, water and gas phases flow rates become …

Two Protestants, Three Churches: Croatian Protestantism: Churches, Denominations, And Theological Institutions, Lidija Matošević, Enoh Šeba, Ruben Knežević
Occasional Papers on Religion in Eastern Europe
Using the existing data from the national census (2011 and 2021) and other available data sources, the authors present Croatian Protestantism on the national level as a fragmented minority. In search for possible historic reasons for this fragmentized mode of existence, they proceed with an overview of Protestant presence in the Croatian lands, starting from the early adoption of Protestant ideas, eradicated by the Catholic Counter-Reformation up to the ghettoization of the Protestant congregations during the Communist era (late 20th century). The establishment of an independent Croatian state and the subsequent war proved to be a significant turning point for …

Dnp Final Report: Multimodal Pain Management To Improve Patient Satisfaction In Total Joint Replacement Patients, Dana A. Carns
DNP Final Reports
Pain is a costly result of total joint replacement (TJR) surgery. The effect of pain can extend not only to chronic medical problems for patients but also to the hospital’s bottom line by decreasing patient satisfaction. A systematic literature search was performed, and evidence was appraised that supported the efficacy of a standardized multimodal pain management protocol to decrease pain and improve satisfaction in TJR patients. The evidence-based multimodal pain management protocol was implemented during a one-month period in patients undergoing total knee or total hip replacements. Key outcomes were examined and compared to the body of evidence and to …
