Lactic acid is an organic acid that contains two enantiomers, L- and D-lactic acid, and is considered the most potential monomer for many industrial products. Lactic acid has versatile applications in the pharmaceutical, food, textile, chemical, and leather industries moreover in poly-lactic acid (PLA) manufacturing. While L-lactic acid is well known in many commercial products and studies, only a few studies on D-lactic acid were found. Phthalate esters (PAEs) have been classified as a priority contaminant due to their endocrine-disrupting properties and abundance in the environment. Previously, several PAE-degrading consortia were enriched from landfill soil. This study aimed to initially select a consortium with efficient degradation activity, to characterize based on degradation kinetics and community dynamics, and to evaluate bioaugmentation feasibility while maintaining activity through continuous transfer. It was obtained based on enriched consortium selection that LF-NK-DEHP could simultaneously degrade 92.9% 100 mg l-1 DBP and 63.4% 100 mg l-1 DEHP within seven days. This study optimized the pretreatment processes (physical polishing (PP), electropolishing (EP), and thermal annealing) for high-quality graphene growth on thin copper (Cu) foils. PP using Brasso solvent was applied to smoothen the substrate surface, followed by EP with H3PO4 to reduce rolling lines and surface contamination. The EP process involved different H3PO4 concentrations (30-60%) and etching times (60-120 seconds). After thermal annealing at 860-940 ºC, graphene growth was performed using direct-liquid-injection chemical-vapor deposition with cyclohexane (C6H12) as the carbon precursor and nitrogen as the carrier gas. Antiresorptive drugs are widely used to treat osteoporosis. A serious adverse effect of these drugs is medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). By informing and educating patients about MRONJ, providing proper dental referral, and monitoring the oral health of patients who receive antiresorptive agents, physicians can reduce the risk of MRONJ. We investigated the awareness and clinical practices of physicians in Thailand with regard to MRONJ. Physicians who prescribed antiresorptive drugs for osteoporosis filled out an online self-administered questionnaire about demographic characteristics, awareness, and practices related to MRONJ. The study investigated whether patient-to-nurse ratio, working hours, nurse competence, environment, nurse satisfaction, and turnover intention influence inpatient quality nursing care in Indonesian hospitals. Aiken’s model and empirical evidence were adapted to construct the framework. A cross-sectional design and multistage sampling were employed. Five hundred-fifty registered inpatient department nurses from June to October 2022. Aerosol-generating procedures with contaminated saliva may pose a risk of disease transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 preventive measures in dental clinics have evolved in response to the pandemic situation. This research investigated the effect of this pandemic on Thai patients' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior toward dental treatment. The online survey was distributed in June 2022. There were 978 participants in the study. The results showed that most participants had accurate knowledge about the COVID-19 transmission route in dentistry. Objective: Indirect Jagged1 immobilization efficiently activates canonical Notch signaling in hDPSCs. This study aimed to investigate the characteristic of the Jagged1-treated hDPSCs-derived dECM and its biological activity on odonto/osteogenic differentiation SCAPs. Methods: Bioinformatic database of Jagged1-treated hDPSCs was analyzed by NetworkAnalyst. hDPSCs seeded on Jagged1 immobilized surface were maintained with N or OM followed by decellularization procedure, dECM-N or dECM-OM, respectively. Hypoxia induces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in periodontal tissues. Superoxide dismutase 3 (SOD3) is an enzyme protecting cells from ROS. This study investigated SOD3 expression and function during rat orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) and in hypoxia-exposed rat PDL cells. OTM of right maxillary first molars were performed in Sprague-Dawley rats for 1 and 14 days (n = 6 per group). SOD3 and HIF-1α expression were evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Phenolic compounds are important chemicals and are applied in many fields. Moreover, they are found as contaminants in the environment. This research aimed to improve the chromatographic analysis of phenolic compounds and was divided into two parts. The first part focused on improving the separation of a mixture containing eighteen phenols using gas chromatography with derivatized cyclodextrin stationary phases. Results showed that all three cyclodextrin-based stationary phases, with different ring sizes, improved the separation of the mixture in comparison to polysiloxane OV-1701 stationary phase. This study aimed to prepare the cellulose micro- and nanofibers (CMNFs) using green chemistry viewpoint. The CMNFs were fabricated from sugarcane bagasse (SCB) pulp through treatment with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) - lactic acid (LA) in deep eutectic solvent (ZnCl2-LA DES) followed by short time ultrasonication of the DES-treated fibers in water. Under the optimum condition, the SCB pulp at high solid loading of 6.25% was treated with ZnCl2-LA DES. The objective of this study is to develop two complementary methods for deuterium labeling of organic compounds including the hydrogen-deuterium exchange (HDx) and halogen-deuterium exchange (XDx) reactions under hydrothermal conditions. Lung cancer is a prevalent cause of death, indicated by an elevated c-Myc level. We synthesized a new derivative of renieramycin T (RT), named DH_22, and tested it for anti-cancer activities in human lung cancer cells. In the cell viability and nuclear staining tests, DH_22 was discovered to be cytotoxic, with an IC50 of around 13 μM; and found to mediate apoptosis in the lung cancer cells. Meanwhile, in a mechanistic sense, DH_22 contributed to the activation of p53-dependent apoptosis and decreased the cellular level of c-Myc. Detecting immunity against SARS-CoV-2 is vital for evaluating vaccine response and natural infection, but a conventional virus neutralization test (cVNT) requires BSL3 and live viruses, and a pseudo-virus neutralization test (pVNT) needs specialized equipment and trained professionals in BSL2. The surrogate virus neutralization test (sVNT) was developed to overcome these limitations. This study explored the use of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE2) produced from Nicotiana benthamiana for the development of an affordable neutralizing antibodies detection assay. Free radicals are unstable, highly reactive, molecules which can cause several degenerative diseases such as mutagenesis and carcinogenesis. This research aims to study the chemical constitutents of Dendrobium virgineum and their antioxidant activity in 3 different test models including DPPH radical scavenging assay, superoxide radical scavenging activity assay and oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay. Nine compounds were isolated and determined to be two new compounds named 2,8-dimethoxy-9,10-dihydro-4,5-phenanthrenediol and 2,5-dimethoxy-7-hydroxy-9,10-dihydro-1,4-phenanthrenequinone, together with seven known compounds, which are 2-methoxy-9,10-dihydro-4,5-phenanthrenediol, gigantol, 5-methoxy-7-hydroxy-9,10-dihydro-1,4-phenanthrenequinone, p-coumaric acid, tristin, 2,5,7-trihydroxy-4-methoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene and 9,10-dihydro-2,4,7-phenanthrenetriol.
