Accuracy Assessment Of 3d Tooth Reconstruction With Novel Segmentation Technique, Thanatchaporn Permwatanachai
Accuracy Assessment Of 3d Tooth Reconstruction With Novel Segmentation Technique, Thanatchaporn Permwatanachai
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
In modern medicine, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction has innovative new applications by building cost-effective patient-specific surgical models and prostheses. Concurrently, 3D reconstruction is useful in dental and maxillofacial disciplines for pre-operative planning and surgical simulation. During the 3D reconstruction process, one of the significant procedures is segmentation, which involves extracting interesting structures from undesirable surroundings. In this case, if the digital segmentation is inaccurate, the physical model generated by the virtual model will not properly represent anatomy of the structure, resulting in a discordance between treatment plan and outcome. The study aims to assess the segmental accuracy of the new threshold-based …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Orthognathic surgery can limit oral intake postoperatively, leading to the loss of weight and muscle mass, which can weaken the immunity. To ensure proper perioperative care, it is crucial to provide adequate nutrition and mitigate surgical stress-induced catabolism. However, research on nutrition therapy for orthognathic surgery patients is limited. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate the nutritional status of patients who received nutritional therapy. Thirty-four patients were randomly assigned into two groups: one receiving nutritional counselling only and the other receiving nutritional counselling with an oral nutritional supplement. We collected data on weight, muscle mass, fat mass, handgrip strength, biomarkers, …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
The H2S selective oxidation is the most attractive process for converting H2S to elemental sulfur, but the industrial problem of this process is the catalytic stability. In this work, two different synthesis methods (sol-gel (SG) compared with incipient wetness impregnation (IWI) as a widely used method) were used to synthesize iron oxide supported on silica catalysts (Fe2O3/SiO2) with metal loadings ranging from 0.5 to 10 %wt. The catalysts were tested for the selective oxidation of H2S, changing the operating conditions like temperature (170 – 250 °C), O2/H2S (0.5 – 2.5) and water content (0 – 50 %). A detailed characterization …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Lignin nanoparticles have potential value in biomedical and environmental applications. Utilizing oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) for lignin nanoparticles production can improve the economics of oil palm. In this study, lignin was extracted from OPEFB by acid-catalyzed organosolv method, using either glycerol/glycerol carbonate or ethanol/water as the solvent. The FT-IR spectra of the lignin particles extracted by glycerol/glycerol carbonate and ethanol/water suggest that the ethanol/water system was able to remove more functional groups from the OPEFB than glycerol/glycerol carbonate. Without the homogenization, the organosolv lignin particle sizes extracted by glycerol/glycerol carbonate and ethanol/water were broadly distributed, ranging between 8-154 …

Hashtag Recommendation Based On Neural Topic Model, Thunchanok Tangpong
Hashtag Recommendation Based On Neural Topic Model, Thunchanok Tangpong
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Hashtag recommendation is a method that aims to recommend the relevant hashtag to the target microblog. The previous work applies a topic model for discovering the topic of users, words, and hashtags. Despite their progress, two problems remain unresolved. Firstly, the previous work infers topic distribution by using a non-neural network framework which is a non-linear function, limiting the model's ability to capture topic distribution complexly. Secondly, the representation of words and hashtags used in the prior model is merely the frequency of words, making the model to ignore not only word context but also the relation between word and …
Impact Of Calcium Ion (Ca2+) On Pectin Wall Material For Microencapsulated Lactobacillus Plantarum, Nurul Hasniah
Impact Of Calcium Ion (Ca2+) On Pectin Wall Material For Microencapsulated Lactobacillus Plantarum, Nurul Hasniah
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
The microencapsulation, a promising technology, could preserve the probiotic viability during processing, storage, and delivery to gastrointestinal tract through the wall layer. However, the loss of probiotic depends on heat/stress-susceptibility of culture themselves and the microencapsulating efficiency of wall materials. The selection of wall material composition is very challenging. Maltodextrin (MD) is mostly selected for the microencapsulating application because of its low price, rapid water solubilization, and low viscosity. MD functions as a good medium but not stabilizer for culture. Pectin is the most abundant biopolymer, found in plant cell. Pectin itself is a good gelation agent so it could …

Conservative Versus Goal-Directed Fluid Management Based On Stroke Volume Variation For Reducing Length Of Icu Stay In Elderly Patients Undergoing Elective Craniotomy, Vorrachai Sae-Phua
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Inappropriate fluid management during neurosurgery can increase postoperative complications. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of goal-directed therapy (GDT) using stroke volume variation (SVV) on intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay in elderly patients scheduled for elective craniotomy. One hundred elderly patients undergoing elective craniotomy were randomized into two groups: GDT group (n=50) and conventional group (n=50). Fluid management protocol using SVV was applied in the GDT group. Decisions about fluid management in the conventional group were made by the anesthesiologist. ICU length of stay was the primary outcome. Results from this study showed no significant …

Dosimetric Comparison Between Single-Energy Ct And Dual-Energy Ct For Relative Stopping Power Estimation In Proton Therapy, Thamonwan Chirdchid
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
In proton therapy treatment planning, dose calculation requires CT calibration curve by relating CT number (HU) to relative stopping power to water (RSP). The CT calibration curve and the RSP validation are described for single-energy CT (SECT) and dual-energy CT (DECT). The focus of this work was given on the dosimetric comparison of treatment plans between SECT and DECT-based dose calculation. The 062M CIRS phantom was scanned to access the HU values by GE kVp switching method with single-energy of 120 kVp and dual-energy of 80/140 kVp. The CT calibration curve was generated using the stoichiometric calibration method and implemented …

Tolerance Levels On Dose And Anatomic Variation For Adaptive Radiotherapy Based On Statistical Process Control For Nasopharyngeal Cancer, Rudjaya Intaprom
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is one of the most common cancers in Thailand and worldwide. During the long course of treatment, patients often change of anatomy in both the shape and the volume. The deviation of the delivered dose has long been a clinical concern. Adaptive radiotherapy (ART) technique is a treatment process that prevents the dose changes to clinical target volume (CTV) and organs at risk (OARs). The purpose of this study was proposed to method to set the action levels for replanning in NPC and to evaluate the dose differences of CTV and OARs by planning CT and weekly …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
One way to achieve carbon neutrality and sustainable future energy scenarios is through the valorization of CO2 into valuable chemicals using solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). However, the electrochemical performance and sulfur tolerance of cathode materials used for SOECs under a gas feed containing H2S species still requires further development. In this study, we successfully synthesized in-situ exsolved Co nanoparticles decorated on the La0.3Sr0.7Ti0.9Co0.1O3-x (LSTC) perovskite oxide (ex-LSTC) under a reductive atmosphere at high temperatures. The electrolyte-supported single cell with the ex-LSTC cathode exhibited remarkable electrocatalytic activity toward CO2 and H2O co-electrolysis with a maximum current density of approximately 705 …
