Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has become the tip of the iceberg since technology globalization has created a welcoming environment for green construction. However, there are several roadblocks to overcome, this includes barriers to technology. Dependence on technology stifles the autonomous growth of one's technology. This implementation of sustainable green building has been implemented in ATBU such as green construction, financing, among others. The study has the primary aim of assessing the impediment to the sustainable implementation of green building practices in ATBU. Quantitative research design is adopted in this study where questionnaire survey strategy was used to collect data. …

Preparation Of Azomethine Derivatives (Schif Bases) Chitosan Apis Mellifera, A S. Mengliev, G A. Ikhtiyarova
Technical science and innovation
Chitin and chitosan should be considered as derivatives of cellulose. The basis for such an approach to these polysaccharides is their chemical structure. The macromolecular chains of these polymers are formed by glucopyranose cycles, which, being connected by β- (1→4) glucosidic bonds, form linear polymer chains. The biological functions and mechanical properties of these polysaccharides are largely determined by the conformation of macromolecules and the distribution of reactive groups in them. Due to the unique properties of chitin and chitosan, they are becoming increasingly important in the practical and especially in the medical and biological activities of mankind. The aim …

Intelligent Approach To Power System Management During Well Drilling In Terms Of Environmental Impact, N N. Makhmudov, K M. Sulitanofu
Technical science and innovation
An autonomous hybrid power system is an intelligent power installation that provides electricity to isolated consumers without being connected to the power grid. The introduction of autonomous hybrid power systems in the oil and gas industry is considered as an option to improve energy and environmental security. As a rule, oil and gas fields are located remotely and off the grid, and therefore electricity is generated using diesel generators. This article discusses the possibility of reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere by using an autonomous hybrid installation as a source of electrical energy.

Robust Estimates For One-Parameter Exponential Regression Model, Ahmed Joudah Irshayyid, Rabab Abdul Rida Al-Bakri
Journal of Economics and Administrative Sciences
One-parameter exponential regression is one of the most common and widely used models in several fields, to estimate the parameters of the one-parameter exponential regression model use the ordinary least square method but this method is not effective in the presence of outlier values, so robust methods were used to treat outlier values in the one-parameter exponential regression model are to estimate the parameters using robust method (Median-of-Means, Forward search, M-Estimation), and the simulation was used to compare between the estimation methods with different sample sizes and assuming four ratios from the outliers of the data (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%). …

Recent Trends In Mineral Processing Based On Density And Particle Size–A Review, Ahmed Sobhy
Mining Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works
Most mineral beneficiation development in the world focus on size and density-based separation technologies. In recent years, ore size-based and density-based separation technologies have attracted more consideration to obtaining rough or final high-quality products. Due to the dissimilarity of physical properties like particle size and density, valuable and gangue minerals can be segregated via size-based and density-based separation technologies. Removing the impurities and recovering the target minerals are accomplished by size-based separation technologies alone or are usually followed by cleaning processes utilizing density-based separation abilities. The density variation among valuable and gangue minerals leads to dissimilarities in settling velocity in …

Journal of Bioresource Management
In this review, we checked the harsh influence of high temperature or heat stress on plant metabolism and crop yield. Plants can bear a minimum range of temperature; temperature more than this optimum range comes in the term of heat stress. Climate changes increase the number and severity of heat waves that reduced the development of plants and resulted in the death of the entire plant. Heat stress is a major stressful environment that destroys plant growth, biochemical reactions, and the yield of crops across the world. High-temperature influences many physiological and chemical reactions in plants. HS is now a …

Back To Work Post-Covid-19 Pandemic: Gender Equality Of Women Workers From The Point Of View Of The Fifth Sdgs, Dyah Utari, F. T. Maharani
Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development
Staying at home and taking care of the family full time was the desire of most female workers in the pre-pandemic period. After the Covid-19 pandemic, working from home has become necessary, bringing its problems and negative impacts. The shift from the pandemic period to the new order era does not necessarily eliminate the double burden of working women. Economic conditions that have not yet recovered, difficulties in finding household assistants, anxiety about leaving children at home without knowledge are new problems that arise when female workers returning to work. This study looks at the double burden faced by female …

Nowadays 35-40 % of all the drilling works, performed on mining and geological exploration enterprises, are made by air bottom hole cleaning, and the rest 60-65 % are made by flushing liquids on water base. Air drilling and bottom hole cleaning due to low heat conductivity of air generates high temperature at a borehole bottom thus negatively affecting the efficiency of rock destruction tool; while drilling with water based flushing fluids causes efficiency reduction of rock destruction tool due to formation of slurry mode at a borehole bottom. This paper presents the results of the study of the factors negatively …

Quantifying The Effects Of Guessing, Position Bias And Prior Knowledge In Multiple Choice Exams, Almasi S Maguya
Quantifying The Effects Of Guessing, Position Bias And Prior Knowledge In Multiple Choice Exams, Almasi S Maguya
Tanzania Journal of Science
“Can an examinee pass a multiple-choice (MC) exam by chance?” Many studies have tried to address this question. However, these studies ignore different types of position bias associated with picking an item from a list. Despite the presence of considerable evidence on the existence of position bias in guessing answers in MC exams, these studies assume an examinee chooses answers with equal probability. This paper seeks to fill this gap by quantifying the chance of success in MC exams due to guessing when different types of position bias and prior knowledge are taken into consideration. The paper proposes a probabilistic …

Accurate estimation of kinetic parameters is challenging due to the dynamics and mathematical nature of the chemical systems. This paper presents simple, yet efficient closed-form solutions for the enzymatic conversion of the substrate to the product in real-time derived using the Lambert W function. The real values of the Lambert W function were calculated from the Lambert package as implemented in MATLAB. The expressions exhibit remarkable robustness in estimating the parameters for randomized data at 1% to 4% variation in noise levels. Furthermore, unlike the initial rates method, the expressions estimate chemical kinetic parameters utilizing a full range of experimental …
