Fabrication Of Electrospun Cellulose-Derived Nanofiber Membranes With Enhanced Stability Properties Of Arginase, Ceyhun Işik, Mustafa Teke

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

In this study, cellulose acetate (CA)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and CA/PVP/Mn2+ nanofibers were produced by the electrospinning method, and these cellulose-derived membranes were used as carriers for arginase immobilization for the first time. The structural and morphological analysis of these cellulose-derived nanofibers were determined by attenuated total reflection-Fourier to transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). After the immobilization process, it was observed that the thermal properties of the cellulose-derived nanofibers especially improved. The optimum temperature value for free arginase was found to be 35 °C, and this value was found to be 40 …

Detailed Structure Analyses On Cobalt Doped Pbtio3 Powders, Ebru Erünal

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

The identification of the defects and secondary phases which significantly affect the material properties are of crucial importance. In this study, a systematic structure examination of PbTiO3 and cobalt doped PbTiO3 powder ceramics was carried out. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), Raman, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies were applied along with nonsimultaneous thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The doped and undoped PbTiO3 materials were synthesized via a practical sol-gel route that takes place at 50 °C. The perovskite formation for both materials was verified. The dislocation density of cobalt doped PbTiO3 was found to be …

Synthesis And Investigation Of A Hexyl Substituted Thieno-Fused Bodipy Derivative As A Versatile Near-Ir Fluorophore, Yusuf Çakmak

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

The synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical properties of hexyl thiophene substituted thieno[b]-fused BODIPY structure are reported within this work. One such derivative, HTFBod, has been studied, which is one of the rare compounds that has a maximum absorbance wavelength greater than 750 nm among fused BODIPY compounds. In addition, it preserves its significant spectral properties such as high molar absorptivity and fluorescence quantum yield. Electrochemical characterizations indicated that the compound could be a successful candidate for an organic solar cell donor compound due to its low band gap, which is known to improve the short-circuit current (Jsc) values. The compound could …

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

This work reports the surface modification of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers by graft copolymerization to ensure the decoration of homogenous and dense Ag nanoparticles. Two facile and subsequent modification processes resulted in a PAN fiber composite with an intact fibrous structure, sufficiently conductive for antistatic application and antibacterial activity. In the first step, some chemically attractive monomers and monomer mixtures, such as acrylic acid (AA), AA-itaconic acid (AA-IA), AA-acrylamide (AA-AAm), were introduced to the fiber surface by grafting. The grafting process was evidenced by FTIR, 1H-NMR, and SEM techniques. The second step aimed to form a chelate structure by Ag + …

Simulation Of Two Electrode Reactions Coupled By The Chemical Reaction, Milivoj Lovric

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A model of an ECE mechanism consisting of two reversible electrode reactions coupled by the kinetically controlled, second order, reversible chemical reaction is developed for the staircase cyclic voltammetry on the rotating disk electrode. The relationship between the limiting current of the second wave and the rate constant of chemical reaction is investigated. The concentration of electroinactive component of the forward reaction influences the half-wave potential of the first wave and the limiting current of the second wave. The responses of the mechanisms with reversible and irreversible chemical reactions are compared.

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

The combination of four iso-nicotinate appended tetrathiacalix[4]arene (TCA-1) in 1,2-alternate imposed conformation behaving as neutral tectons with Co(II)Cl2 and Hg(II)Cl2 metallic salts, leads to the formation of neutral, new coordination networks. Indeed, the tetrasubstituted TCA-1 derivative leads to a 1D coordination polymer with Co(II)Cl2 and a 2D grid-like network with, Hg(II)Cl2. The effect of the nature of the metal used on the dimensionality was demonstrated by X-ray diffraction studies on a single crystal.

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

In gas and liquid phase reactions, the conversion of starting materials to products is directly controlled by the rate of the reaction, whereas in solid state reactions, it is determined by the rate of diffusion. When working with thermal analysis methods, tens of thousands of data to be obtained from measured differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermal gravimetry (TG), and differential thermal gravimetry (DTG) curves must first be digitized, and then these digitized data must be converted to concentrations and thermal values using appropriate software programs. Companies that produce devices using thermal analysis techniques generally adapt the encrypted software programs they …

In order to compare the electrochemical and chemical properties of the copolymer, the benzothiodiazole derivative and 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) monomers, which are parts of the copolymer, are electrochemically polymerized, separately in the same environment and concentration with the copolymer. Poly(4,7-di(thiophen- 2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole) (P(TBT)) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) polymers were obtained. Before starting the electrochemical synthesis, the initial oxidation potentials of the monomers that form the copolymer were compared via the …
