Background: Breast milk is a very important functional food in the prevention of metabolic and chronic diseases. This study aimed to investigate the effects of smoking during pregnancy on the concentrations of nesfatin-1, irisin, and oxidative stress markers in breast milk.

Methods: This study included two groups of 14 smoking and 14 nonsmoking mothers. Malondialdehyde (MDA) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were measured according to the spectrophotometric method in breast milk samples. Nesfatin and irisin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Methods: The Collaborative Space Analysis Framework (CS-AF), introduced in this research, is a cross-disciplinary evaluation method designed to evaluate technology-mediated collaborative workflows. The 5-step CS-AF approach includes: (1) current-state workflow definition, (2) current-state (baseline) workflow assessment, (3) technology-mediated workflow development and deployment, (4) technology-mediated workflow assessment, (5) analysis, and conclusions. Introduction: To determine the CT findings of mycobacterial and fungal infection of the adrenal gland.

Methods: CT findings of patients with mycobacterial and fungal infection at adrenal glands were reviewed retrospectively by two reviewers, independently. Several CT parameters were recorded. Quantitative parameters were reported as mean, range, and standard deviation. Qualitative parameters were reported as percentage. The Kappa statistic was used to assess interobserver agreement.

Results: Seventeen patients, 8 with adrenal tuberculosis, 7 with adrenal histoplasmosis, 1 with adrenal cryptococcosis, and 1 with adrenal non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection, were included. Nine patients (52.9%) had primary adrenal insufficiency which are found only …

The aim of this current study was to investigate forced degradation of extracts by heat, moisture, oxidation, and acid hydrolysis. A 73-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) presented with corneal perforation at nasal cornea of her left eye after primary pterygium excision and amniotic membrane grafting without other adjunctive therapy. She was successfully treated with lamellar keratoplasty using corneoscleral graft, without signs of graft rejection at 6 months postoperatively.

Nowadays, the COVID-19 pandemic has led Malaysian educators to experience more significant burnout due to job demands. This paper is an effort to examine the reasons that caused burnout among Malaysian educators. A total of 413 Malaysian educators participated in the study. This study’s findings revealed that PSC has a significant negative relationship with hindrance demands and burnout, whereas both challenge and hindrance demands have insignificant positive relationships with burnout. Furthermore, the study showed that two variables—challenge demands and hindrance demands—played significant mediators in the relationship between PSC and burnout. Likewise, it also looked into the ability of psychological birth order to influence the endorsement of achievement goals (mastery-approach and avoidance; performance- approach and avoidance). A total of 220 high school students engaged in shadow education answered the White-Campbell Psychological Birth Order Inventory (PBOI) and the Achievement Goal Questionnaire (AGQ). As ageism could have detrimental effects in the ageing society, it is important to know how people of different age groups perceive ageing and successive ageing. This study collected data from 648 respondents aged between 18 to 80 years old for an age-based analysis of the perceptions of ageing and successful ageing. Self- administered questionnaires were used. Correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between perception of successful ageing and factors associated with psychological well-being.
