Bulletin of Monetary Economics and Banking

This paper examines the effectiveness of monetary policy transmission in emerging economies during the COVID-19 outbreak. Using data from 14 emerging economies severely affected by the pandemic and the autoregressive distributed lag approach to cointegration, the study examines the effectiveness of monetary policy in affecting output, inflation, and credit. The study finds that: (1) In most economies, the monetary policy transmission to inflation is weakened due to the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 pandemic; (2) in a few economies, the transmission is found to be effective in stabilizing credit and output; and (3) the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic induced …

In this study, we revisit the inflation process in Vietnam through the New Keynesian Phillips Curve (NKPC) model. We use monthly and quarterly data frequencies to track the forces driving inflationary pressures up to a quarter. Interest rate, an important determinant of inflation, is often found to give theoretically inconsistent result. Hence, we examine different interest rates, including, the central bank policy rate, lending interest rate and one-month interbank interest rates. Further, there is no unified approach to measuring the output gap – an important variable of the model - in the literature which may affect the results. Therefore, in …

The main aim of the study is to identify political public relations approaches that can be applied by the government and other bodies responsible for conducting elections in Nigeria to mitigate and eliminate vote buying. The study adopted a qualitative approach in the contextual analysis of data collected specifically from secondary sources. The present study aim is to know the information professionals/library professional’s knowledge sharing behaviours and attitudes among the institutes. This study investigated six countries' library professionals: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The study discussed knowledge sharing behaviour, technological equipment used for knowledge management and disseminating the sources of knowledge; academic social networking sites used for sharing the information and knowledge as well as challenges in knowledge management faced by the librarians examined in detail. The study examined the research data management and related services offered by South Asian countries' academic libraries. Research applied quantitative approach and survey research design method were used for this study. The survey questionnaire was distributed randomly to academic library professionals in five countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The sample population comprised 67 library professionals from various institutes of five countries.
