In this article, in distinction to documentation as an epistemic understanding of documents, I will discuss the epistemology of documentality as an indexical theory of documental functions, which I will develop through Bruno Latour’s notion of information. This notion of indexicality is different than Suzanne Briet’s notion of indexicality (which I have discussed elsewhere (Briet, 2006)).

Information manipulation for deception continues to evolve at a remarkable rate. Artificial intelligence has greatly reduced the burden of combing through documents for evidence of manipulation; but it has also enabled the development of clever modes of deception.

In this study, we modeled deception attacks by examining phishing emails that successfully evaded detection by the Microsoft 365 filtering system. This essay suggests the etymologies of emergence, emergency, and crisis create a useful framework for theorizing documents. Indeed, the overlapping semantic associations of the words allow for the idea that documents emerge in crisis. The semantic overlap also allows a means for theorizing how documents descend into crisis. Theorizing documents in crisis, the essay argues, usefully complements documentalist theories of documentary representation suggested by thinkers like Paul Otlet and Suzanne Briet, as well newer conceptualizations of documentality as conceived by Michael Buckland and Maurizio Ferraris and documentarity as described by Ronald Day.

This paper explores the ability to define bibliographic classification systems as socially significant documents in a way that goes beyond their immediate function in the information retrieval process. Positive Psychological Transformation: A Mixed Methods Investigation Into Catalysts And Processes Of Meaningful Change, Nick Fortino, Paul Dommert Jr., Nadia Santiago, Jen Smith

International Journal of Transpersonal Studies Advance Publication Archive

This mixed methods study investigated the experience of positive psychological transformation, including its catalysts, dynamics, supportive factors, and outcomes. The first phase of the study was a 13-item survey (N=130) that revealed trends and associations in participants’ experiences of transformation. The most significant correlation was between “expressing myself” and change stabilization (p < .01). Forty-four percent of participants reported trauma or emotional distress as the main catalyst of their transformation. Each of the other three main catalysts (dissonance, adaptation, and inspiration) drew approximately 18% of responses. Connecting with nature (71%), introspection (65%), solitude (63%) and empathy (61%) were commonly reported supportive factors. Common changes related to participants’ way of interacting with others (77%), perception (75%), and emotional patterns (70%). The process of transformation differed substantially depending on multiple factors including the catalyst and demographic categories. Additionally, the survey revealed a trend of moving away from organized religion toward a sense of being spiritual but not religious. The second phase of the study consisted of interviews with a portion of the participants who reported trauma as the main catalyst of their transformation (n = 26) and was focused on the experience of posttraumatic growth. Thematic analysis revealed that transformation is typically initiated by a series of traumatic events and that the process of transformation can involve impaired well-being/functioning before elevated well-being/functioning. The results of thematic analysis were consistent with existing data on posttraumatic growth.

تتناول هذه الدراسة موضوع الحداثة من حيث التعريف والنشأة، ثم عرضت الدراسة للمشروع الحداثي العربي مبينة أهدافه وخصائصه وأهم رواده، وعمدت إلى قطب من أقطاب الحداثة العربية وهو محمد أركون في دراسة تطبيقية لمنهجه التشكيكي في دراسة القرآن الكريم، متبعة في سبيل ذلك المنهجين الاستقرائي والتحليلي النقدي. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى جملة من النتائج منها: أن من أهم سمات القراءة الحداثية للنص القرآني رفع القداسة عن النصوص الشرعية، ومحاولة إعادة صياغة الرؤية لهذه النصوص، بوضعها في مصاف النصوص البشرية، وذلك من خلال عدة ممارسات ستكشف عنها هذه الدراسة.

هذه دراسة لجملة من انفرادات القارئ يعقوب الحضرمي في الأفعال وأثرها في بلاغة النظم، حيث اشتملت الدراسة على نبذة مختصرة عن يعقوب الحضرمي وراوييه -رحمهم الله تعالى-، ثم تناولت بعض انفرادات الحضرمي فيما يتعلق بالأفعال، وأثر تلك الانفرادات في بلاغة السياق والنظم الذي وردت فيها. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن قراءات القرآن تعطي معناها في سياقه ونظمه بما يبهر العقول والقلوب دون أن تتضاد مع القراءات الأخرى أو تقصر عن بلاغتها فكل كلمة في مكانها هي الأبلغ.

تتناولُ هذه الدراسة موضوعَ الجزاء الدنيويّ للفِسقِ والفاسقين في القرآن الكريم، حيث عدَّ القرآن الفسقَ من أمهات المنكرات والذنوب فجاء الحديثُ عنها في هذه الدراسةِ مبيِّناً حقيقة الفسقِ وأنواعَه وجزاءَ كلِّ نوعٍ من أنواعه وكلّ صورةٍ من صُوَره.

يتناول هذا البحث مادة (قُدْس) في القرآن الكريم، ودراستها دراسة دلالية سياقية، وذلك بهدف الكشف عن تقاليب هذه المادة، وإبراز الألفاظ المقاربة للفظها، وإدراك الفروقات بينها، وإظهار دلالاتها في سياق الآيات التي وردت فيها، وإثبات اختصاص كل لفظة بسياقها الذي وردت فيه، مما يكشف عن رافد مهم من روافد الإعجاز القرآني.

وقد كشفت الدراسة أن المادة جاءت دلالاتها اللغوية في الاستعمال القرآني بما يناسب السياق، وبما لا يمكن استبداله بلفظة أخرى مهما كانت مقاربة لها في المعنى، وذلك من خلال دراسة استقرائية وتحليلية لهذه المادة.

ملخص

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على منهجية الشيخ أطفيش في تأليف كتابه شرح كتاب النيل من خلال باب البيوع (أنموذجاً)، وبيان خصائص هذا الكتاب وما أضافه للمدرسة الإباضية في مجال الفقه، وما تميز به عن غيره من الموسوعات الفقهية الإباضية.

لذا، كانت إشكالية البحث كالآتي: ما هي المنهجية العلمية التي اتبعها الشيخ أطفيش في تأليف كتابه شرح كتاب النيل وشفاء العليل في باب البيوع؟
