Arytenoid edema is not a well-described complication of thyroplasty. We report a case of exuberant arytenoid edema following thyroplasty in a 33-year-old female. The diagnosis was made post-operative day 1, the patient was immediately started on a 6-day course of methylprednisone with voice rest. The arytenoid edema completely resolved within 1 week.

The 2016 Health Resources and Services Administration, Health Workforce Analysis estimated that ophthalmology is the surgical specialty with the greatest physician shortage. Based on their estimates, the ophthalmology workforce needs to expand by 33% to 22,690 full time equivalents to meet its 2025 patient care demand.[1] Despite the need to expand the ophthalmology workforce, the number of underrepresented in medicine (URiM) ophthalmology trainees decreased from 8.7 to 7.7% between 2005 and 2015.[2] Patients from underrepresented groups, including Black/African Americans, Latinx, American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, comprised 30.7% of the U.S. population in the same period. Fracture of the proximal radial head is the most common elbow fracture. However, a non-displaced proximal radial head fracture may be overlooked on plain radiographs. This casereport describes a 52-year-old female patient who sustained a right elbow injury after a traffic accident, with delayed diagnosis of radial head fractures and subsequent nonunion. After 10 sessions of focal extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), the pain and range of motion improved and a sequential x-ray revealed smooth cortical bone and increased density of the proximal radial head. Dysphagia is a common poststroke complication. It is associated with aspiration, malnutrition, dehydration, and disability, and it may increase the risk of pneumonia, and even death. Early diagnosis and treatment of patients with dysphagia reduces not only the aforementioned risks, but also the length of hospitalization and overall healthcare expenditures. Patients with poststroke oropharyngeal dysphagia exhibit highly variable patterns of swallowing abnormalities, and the related symptoms remain challenging to identify clinically. We included HF patients under our HF care program between 2009 and 2018. The 17 HF patients enrolled in the study were further divided into in-hospital supervised HIIT (n=8) or medical care (control) (n=9) groups according to their preference. We describe a 74-year-old woman with right knee osteoarthritis experiencing right tibial neuropathy because of complications of total knee arthroplasty revision. Weakness in the right toe flexors and paresthesia over the sole of the right foot were observed after operation. A nerve conduction study and electromyographic examination indicated right tibial neuropathy. Radiography indicated a prosthesis fragment in the right popliteal fossa, and its location was different before and after surgery. Prosthesis fragment dislodgement was also confirmed through ultrasonography, and the nearby tibial nerve may have been entrapped because of the dislocation process and surrounding tissue fibrosis. Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) can be viewed as \emph{nonlinear sieves} that can approximate complex functions of high dimensional variables more effectively than linear sieves. We investigate the computational performance of various ANNs in nonparametric instrumental variables (NPIV) models of moderately high dimensional covariates that are relevant to empirical economics. We present two efficient procedures for estimation and inference on a weighted average derivative (WAD): an orthogonalized plug-in with optimally-weighted sieve minimum distance (OP-OSMD) procedure and a sieve efficient score (ES) procedure.
