Petroleum exploration decision remains a subject of petroleum and economic studies for decades. Most of the studies discuss the investment decision by focusing on either a technical or economic perspective. In reality, economic, geological, and environmental factors are expected to determine the way investors make a decision. This study aims to increase the understanding of best practices in decision-making by scrutinizing integrative perspectives applying panel data of 32 basins in Indonesia in 2004-2015. The study determined the attitude of Social Studies Education (SSE) students towards the use of conventional and digital libraries in South-east Nigeria universities. It adopted a survey research design. Four research questions and four null hypotheses guided the study. The population of the study was 238 Students which consisted all the SSE students from 2⁰⁰ to 400 level. A sample size of 152 students selected through multi-stage sampling techniques were used for the study. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection. It is estimated that 80% of sexually active adults will contract an HPV infection. Thus, there is a significant need for low-cost and easily distributable HPV antivirals that can be used alongside vaccines to combat infection. Herein I have identified protamine sulfate (PS) as a potent microbicide against HPV infection. PS was agnostic to genotype and efficacious pre and post HPV exposure. PS application topically reduced HPV internalization by altering epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling and suppressed EGFR-stimulated HPV entry. Background: James Madison University and Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) entered into a collaborative agreement the summer of 2020. There was a lack of organizational structure surrounding implementation and systemization of evidence-based practice (EBP) models and a disconnect between nurse manager knowledge and EBP implementation within HSA.

Methods: The population for this evidence-based project was 21 HSA nurse managers from the inpatient setting. Pre-intervention survey results informed organizational readiness, nurse manager knowledge and ability to implement, and guided the intervention that included the creation and implementation of a website toolkit for EBP. An EBP model was selected for nursing. …

The United States has engaged in well over 100 Open Skies Agreements with other ICAO member state partners reaching all parts of the globe. These Open Skies Agreements have established a practice of liberalization for airlines to have the most freedom to choose when, where, how often, and for how much they fly to locations. Despite a majority of ICAO member state partners engaging in Open Skies, there has been a reluctance of the member states to engage in the same practices with other aviation partners for similar access. My dissertation investigates religious conversion in late medieval East Anglian drama (c. 1400–1500). Each of my chapters examines a play with ties to fifteenth-century East Anglia, an economically prosperous region where orthodoxy and heterodoxy coexisted and religious drama flourished. All of the plays stage at least one miraculous conversion experience, yet the plays also offer reminders that conversion is an ongoing process that demands the convert’s continual effort to keep growing in faith. Recent publications and initiatives within professional counseling indicate a growing interest in the connections between human wellness and the natural world. Despite consistent growth of this trend between the years 2000 and 2021, there has been little dialogue within the profession about the ethical, ideological, and social justice implications of integrating nature therapy with professional counseling and counselor education. This study investigated the views, experiences, and future plans of 10 counselor educators who integrate nature therapy into their professional roles and developed two major themes and 12 subthemes that encapsulate their responses. During the first few decades of the twentieth century, prolific composer, teacher, and conductor, Armstrong Gibbs (1889-1960), was well-regarded for his contribution to the landscape of English art song. However, against the backdrop of Modernism and the tumult of the Second World War, his musical style was deemed “out of touch.” In a 1943 chain of correspondence with fellow songwriter Roger Quilter, Gibbs describes feeling “exceedingly sore and discouraged at neglect at the hands of the critics.” He further explains, “Just because we both write music that is intelligible & frankly tries to aim at beauty, we are considered beneath …

This dissertation summarizes the recent findings on complex biomacromolecules in cell wall of plants and fungi which perform important roles in cell recognition, structural build up, and energy storage. Because of the technical difficulty in characterizing these biomacromolecules, which are often polymorphic and disordered in structure, the functional structure of these biomacromolecules remains elusive. In this dissertation, I present two solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (ssNMR) and dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) studies of carbohydrate-rich biosystems: the energy-rich plant biomass and disease-relevant, pathogenic fungi.

In the hill country of New Zealand, the soil-sward relationship on hill microrelief was studied. Three categories of slope or microsites were distinguished: low, medium and high. The hypothesis was that soil variables of neighbouring microsites differ, and because of this, there is a segregation of species or functional groups of species between the microsites. Soil features, botanical composition and total annual yield were measured in the slope categories in two similar paddocks; one of which had received long-term phosphorus fertilisation and a non-fertilised paddock. The herders of the Old South held little land and few slaves but owned considerable numbers of livestock. They grazed their livestock on the unclaimed public lands, or “open-range,” at no charge, a practice which was safeguarded by state laws until after the Civil War. Living throughout the Old South, the herders were especially numerous in the mountains and the coastal plain, where the soil possessed little fertility, and where most of the land was unclaimed public domain. In the southern mountains, herders raised hogs in the unfenced hardwood forests, exporting porkers to southern plantations and to midwestern slaughter houses. …

Union Academy: A Freedmen's Bureau School In Gainesville, Florida, Murray D. Laurie

The Union Academy was one of the most important institutions in Gainesville’s black community for over fifty years. It was the town’s first public high school and from its graduating classes came most of Alachua County’s black teachers and black leaders. The facility which housed the Academy was built during Reconstruction by black carpenters who had learned their skill as slaves. Land for the building had been purchased by the school’s board of trustees. A symbol of self-sufficiency and pride for Gainesville’s black citizens for many decades, the Union Academy also represented the value they placed on education.

In the first two decades of the twentieth century, Jacksonville, Florida, became a substantial southern city. Its population more than tripled from 28,428 to 91,558, as it jumped from the nineteenth to the twelfth largest city in the Southeast. Construction, after the great fire of 1901, of skyscrapers, a new city hall, court house, library, high schools, modern department stores, and a palatial railroad station created a cosmopolitan downtown. Expanding suburbs in Riverside, Murray Hill, Springfield, and across the St. Johns River in South Jacksonville provided the physical and social separation of work and home life that characterized cities across …

Six decades have passed since greater Miami and all the rest of Florida were immersed in an orgy of land speculation and a vast array of construction projects referred to as the boom. Miami and its environs were the storm center of the boom, which began to reach fever pitch in 1924. This speculative period crested in the latter part of 1925, when the price of land rose to unheard of heights, and construction commenced on a myriad of ambitious building projects. The boom ended in 1926.

When the Orange Park Normal and Industrial School opened October 7, 1891, probably none of the excited participants imagined that within three years the school would incur the wrath of Florida’s superintendent of public instruction and would result in the passage of a state law prohibiting teaching blacks and whites under the same roof. Rather, the school began with enthusiastic community support and the expectation that its influence would reach throughout upper Florida and lower Georgia. The Orange Park school was founded by the American Missionary Association of New York, the most significant benevolent society then engaged in educating blacks. …

The Florida Supreme Court case, Robert R. Reid et al. v. Bishop Patrick Barry, cleared the cloud of title of the Roman Catholic Church to its downtown Orlando property. The final decree in Circuit Court, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, was announced in Orlando, on June 21, 1927. The judgment also established that in Florida a bishop is a corporation sole and that a deed of property to him and to his successors conveys ownership in the bishop’s corporate capacity.
