Dental pulp tissue regeneration is based on tissue engineering concepts using stem cells, scaffolds, and growth factors to regenerate the pulp-dentine complex. Up to now, native collagen is commonly used as a biomaterial scaffold for tissue regeneration due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and properties that mimic the natural extracellular matrix (ECM). วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัยเพื่อศึกษาสมบัติเชิงกลของซิลิโคนอีลาสโตเมอร์ในงานประดิษฐ์ ใบหน้าและขากรรไกรชนิด VST-50 และ M511 ที ่ใส่เม็ดสีและไม่ใส่เม็ดสี ก่อนและหลังได้รับการ แช่ในน้ำที ่ทำให้ร้อนด้วยพลังงานจากเตาไมโครเวฟโดยจำลองการใช้เตาไมโครเวฟ 18 เดือน ชิ ้นงานตัวอย่าง 80 ชิ ้นต่อซิลิโคนแต่ละชนิด ทั ้งหมด 160 ชิ ้น จัดเป็น 2 กลุ ่มตามการเติมเม็ดสีคือ ชิ ้นงานที ่ไม่มีสีและชิ ้นงานมีสี โดยเป็นเม็ดสีชนิดซิลิโคน และแบ่งออกเป็นกลุ ่มควบคุมและกลุ ่มเข้า เตาไมโครเวฟ รูปร่างชิ ้นงานถูกขึ ้นรูปตามมาตรฐาน ASTM D412 และ D624 ทั ้งหมดมี 8 กลุ่ม ย่อย (n=10) ต่อซิลิโคนแต่ละชนิด การนำชิ ้นงานเข้าไมโครเวฟร่วมกับการแช่น้ำ เป็นเวลา 6 นาที ที่ 660 วัตต์ 18 ครั ้ง เป็นการจำลองการใช้งานเดือนละ 1 ครั ้ง อุณหภูมิของน้ำภายหลังการเข้า ไมโครเวฟคือ 60 องศาเซลเซียส จากการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบ 2 ทาง (a=.5) พบว่า ซิลิโคน VST-50 ชนิดของเม็ดสีมีผลต่อความทนต่อแรงดึงและความแข็งของชิ ้นงานซิลิโคนอย่างมี นัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (P<.001) ทั ้งกลุ ่มควบคุมและเข้าเตาไมโครเวฟ ขณะที ่การใช้เตาไมโครเวฟมีผล ต่อความทนต่อการฉีกขาดอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (P<.05) ทั ้งกลุ ่มไม่มีสีและมีสี และทั ้งสอง ปัจจัยไม่มีผลต่อร้อยละการยืดตัว ขณะที ่ซิลิโคน M511 มีปฏิสัมพันธ์กันระหว่างปัจจัยการผสมเม็ด สีและการเข้าไมโครเวฟอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติสำหรับความแข็ง (P<.05)

Consumption of marine fish, a high protein source, has been hampered by mercury (Hg) contamination. To date, selenium (Se), a co-occurrence element, has been perceived to reduce Hg toxicity. Health risk of Hg exposure via fish consumption might be re-estimated using Se-Hg connection. Total Hg (T-Hg) contamination in seafood was investigated in 60 individual (22, 4 and 6 species of fish, cephalopods and shellfish, respectively) purchased from two supermarkets in Bangkok and in 622 individuals (total 27 fish species) caught by bottom trawling from 63 stations in the Gulf Thailand (GoT). This work aimed to​ treat contaminated groundwater with arsenic and ferrous iron pollutants to be drinking water standard following by WHO by co-precipitation process and membrane separation process. The relative effect of different solid media types (scouring sponge, scouring pad, plastic ring, and activated carbon foam) and operating conditions on oxygen mass transfer coefficient (KLa) and hydrodynamic bubble parameters was studied. In recent years, an interest in plant–based protein increased dramatically. Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) is recognized as a good source of plant protein. The current study was aimed to develop pigeon pea flour (PPF) and whole wheat flour (WWF) blends, which were then used to make chapatis. The substitution levels of PPF for WWF ranged from 10%–40% w/w. The physical properties and nutritional values of the flour blends and the chapatis were investigated. The chapatis were also evaluated for sensory acceptability. Proximate analysis of the flours revealed protein content in PPF (26.10%) two times higher than that in WWF (13.52%). …

Background: Distal sensory neuropathy is a common disorder in the peripheral nervous system. We aimed to investigate the association between reproductive history factors and distal sensory neuropathy among the US postmenopausal women aged 40 years and over. We also explored the heterogeneity of these associations by age. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted with data from postmenopausal women aged 40 years and over in National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 1999-2004. ที่มา: ภาวะพร่องวิตามินเคในเลือดถือเป็นความเสี่ยงที่สำคัญต่อการเกิดภาวะแคลเซียมเกาะผนังหลอดเลือดและนำไปสู่ภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งสูญเสียความยืดหยุ่นในผู้ป่วยโรคไตเรื้อรังและผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการบำบัดทดแทนไต อย่างไรก็ตามประโยชน์ของการให้วิตามินเคเสริมต่อโครงสร้างและหน้าที่ความแข็งแรงสมบูรณ์ของหลอดเลือดนั้นยังเป็นเรื่องที่ถกเถียงกันในวงกว้างและยังต้องการหลักฐานงานวิจัยสนับสนุนเพิ่มเติม การศึกษานี้จึงถูกจัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิผลของการให้วิตามินเคหรือยาเมนาควิโนน-7ต่อการดำเนินของภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งในผู้ป่วยไตเรื้อรังที่ได้รับการฟอกเลือดด้วยเครื่องไตเทียม กระบวนการและระเบียบวิธีวิจัย: เป็นการศึกษาทดลองแบบสุ่มในพหุสถาบันชนิดมีกลุ่มควบคุม จัดทำขึ้นในศูนย์ไตเทียม 4 แห่งในจังหวัดกรุงเทพมหานคร ประเทศไทย โดยรวบรวมผู้ป่วยไตเรื้อรังที่ได้รับการฟอกเลือดด้วยเครื่องไตเทียมทั้งหมด 96 คนซึ่งมีภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งรุนแรงจากการประเมิน carotod-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV ≥ 10 เมตรต่อวินาที) เข้ามาในการศึกษา โดยผู้ป่วยที่เข้าร่วมในการศึกษาจะได้รับการสุ่มแบ่งออกเป็น 2 กลุ่มการศึกษา ได้แก่ กลุ่มรักษาที่ได้รับยาเมนาควิโนน-7 (ขนาด 375 ไมโครกรัมต่อวัน) ในระยะเวลา 24 สัปดาห์ (n=50) และกลุ่มควบคุมที่ไม่ได้รับยาเมนาควิโนน-7 (n=46) โดยผลลัพธ์หลักของการศึกษาคือการเปลี่ยนแปลงของภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งวัดด้วย cfPWV ระหว่างและหลังการรักษา ผลการศึกษา: ผู้ป่วยที่เข้าร่วมในงานวิจัย 96 คนมีข้อมูลพื้นฐานไม่แตกต่างกันในทั้งสองกลุ่ม ระหว่างการรักษาที่ 12 สัปดาห์พบว่า ผู้ป่วยในกลุ่มรักษาที่ได้รับยาเมนาควิโนน-7 มีแนวโน้มของภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งที่ดีขึ้นเมื่อเทียบกับกลุ่มควบคุม (-13.0 ± 20.7% vs -6.8 ± 21.1%, p=0.18) เมื่อวิเคราะห์ในกลุ่มย่อยพบว่า กลุ่มรักษาที่มีภาวะเบาหวานร่วมด้วยมีการลดลงของภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งที่มากยิ่งขึ้นเมื่อเทียบกับกลุ่มควบคุมที่มีภาวะเบาหวานร่วมด้วย (-9.9±13.8% vs 1.9±17.2%, p = 0.065) นอกจากนี้ผลการศึกษายังแสดงให้เห็นว่า ผู้ป่วยในกลุ่มรักษามีการดำเนินของภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งน้อยกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมเมื่อตรวจติดตามค่า cfPWV ที่ 12 สัปดาห์ (21.4% vs 34.1%, p = 0.20) โดยเฉพาะผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะเบาหวานร่วมด้วยเช่นกัน (21.4% vs 58.3%, p = 0.054) ทั้งนี้ระหว่างการศึกษาที่ 12 สัปดาห์ยังไม่พบรายงานยาเมนาควิโนน-7ก่อให้เกิดผลข้างเคียงร้ายแรงต่อผู้ป่วยในงานวิจัยนี้ สรุปผลการศึกษา: การให้ยาเมนาควิโนน-7 รับประทานเสริมขนาด 375 ไมโครกรัมต่อวัน ในระยะเวลา 24 สัปดาห์พบว่า มีแนวโน้มในการลดภาวะหลอดเลือดแดงแข็งจากการวัดด้วย cfPWV ในผู้ป่วยไตเรื้อรังที่ได้รับการฟอกเลือดด้วยเครื่องไตเทียม:7 ซึ่งผลลัพธ์เดียวกันนี้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้นในผู้ป่วยที่ภาวะเบาหวานร่วมด้วย อย่างไรก็ตามควรมีการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมในแง่ผลลัพธ์ทางคลินิกของระบบไหลเวียนโลหิตและหัวใจเพิ่มเติมในอนาคต

This cross-sectional study aimed to develop and test causal relationships between transformational leadership, job characteristics, organizational climate, job satisfaction, and quality of nursing work life among professional nurses in Thailand. The hypothesized model was conducted based on Kanter’s theory of structural empowerment. A multi-stage sampling technique was utilized to recruit 392 Thai professional nurses from 22 hospitals who met the inclusion criteria. Nigerian cocoa farmers are indiscriminately using and disposing pesticides in a manner that poses danger to their health and the environment. Thus, sequential explanatory mixed methods design was used to explore personal and environmental determinants of pesticide safety and disposal behaviours among the farmers. Using face-to-face interviews, 391 cocoa farmers were interviewed based on a reliable and valid questionnaire consisted of the health belief model (HBM), disposal practices and sociodemographic questions. Black garlic has emerged as one of the fastest-growing health food products on the market. It is processed by incubating fresh garlic under high temperature and high humidity conditions. The process causes the changes in characteristics of black garlic such as texture, flavor, nutrient contents, chemical composition and it pharmacological properties, especially antidiabetic activity. In the present investigation, we applied α-glucosidase inhibition guided isolation to identify active compounds. Four compounds named 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxylic acid (HMFCA), 4-(hydroxymethyl)phenol and 2-deoxy-ribono-1,4 lactone were isolated. This study aimed to isolate secondary metabolites from the stems of Abutilon indicum and to evaluate their α-glucosidase, pancreatic lipase, α-chymotrypsin inhibitory activity. Chromatographic fractionation of the n-hexane crude extracts led to the isolation of three known metabolite (1-3). The crude extract from all parts of the plant were evaluated for inhibitory activity on the alpha-glucosidase enzyme. The DCM-soluble roots were active with 10.2% at 25 μg/mL. The hexane and MeOH-soluble stems were active with 11.0% at 25 μg/mL and 8.0% at 0.25 μg/mL. The hexane, DCM, and MeOH-soluble leaves are active with 20.2% at 0.025 μg/mL; 20.0% at 0.025 …

In this study, a small-scale method using thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was developed to determine profile and antioxidant activity value of Thai honey samples obtained from different flora sources. Prior to TLC analysis, the samples were prepared by solvent extraction with dichloromethane. Weedy rice is one of the most notorious weeds occurring in rice-growing areas, especially in South-East Asia. Weedy rice especially in form of paddy seed is difficult to manage and separate as they provide common features (morphological resemblance) to cultivated rice. This work presents a modification of self-organizing map (SOMs) for the classification of weedy rice from cultivated rice via in situ direct sample analysis from paddy seed using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and hyperspectral NIR camera. The objective of this research was to investigate the physical, chemical, and functional properties of tapioca starch subjected to solid-state modification by using nonthermal dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma treatment using different gases (helium and argon), voltage levels (10 kV and 15 kV), and treatment times (5, 10, and 15 minutes). After treatment, an increase in L* value and a marginal decrease in pH value of all treated samples were noted. Scanning electron micrographs showed dented starch granules after the plasma treatment but showed birefringence. Retaining teeth is essential for the quality of life of the aging population. However, aging has biological effects in periodontal ligament cells with significant changes in their proliferative rate and regenerative function. Asiaticoside, extracted from Centella asiatica, was found to have potential in osteogenic differentiation and mineralization in human periodontal ligament cells (HPDLCs). The research was carried out to determine the extent of surface water and sediment pollution using the physicochemical parameters and heavy metal concentrations. The surface water and sediment samples were obtained from 25 sites along the river on March 22 and September 5, 2019 at the main river influenced by the complex tidal regime and aquaculture practices in Ca Mau peninsular in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta. Many people living with HIV (PLWH) have cognitive impairment. Details of cognitive impairment subtypes are lacking. Unsupervised machine learning (ML) can reveal hidden subgroups within heterogeneous data. The study aimed to determine clusters of aging Thai PLWH with borderline cognitive impairment using unsupervised ML. HIV-NAT 207 study enrolled Thai PLWH aged ≥50 years. Cognitive performance was evaluated by the Thai-validated Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). This study included participants who scored between 23 and 27. The company adopted bulk-purchasing to packaging inventory to realize the economy of scales. Because of the lacks of purchasing standard and monitoring, this inventory policy led to the overstock, deadstock, and obsolete packaging inventories as well as the fluctuation of inventory turnover rate.
