Theoretical Approach To Diplomatic Rhetoric, Oqila Bayjanova
Theoretical Approach To Diplomatic Rhetoric, Oqila Bayjanova
Philology Matters
Speech culture is a branch of linguistics, and later, as a result of further researches, another new term, rhetoric, entered the field of linguistics. The culture of rhetoric is a science that goes hand in hand with the field of public speaking, which is primarily focused on the formation of a person's abilities and talents. While rhetoric is the science that studies the talents of the speaker, the culture of speech is the science that studies the literary language and its norms. Rhetoric is a complex art that requires persistence, patience, skill and experience. Real speech requires great skills and …

Functional-Semantic Field Of Graduation Category In The English And Uzbek Languages, Nilufar Makhmudova
Philology Matters
There are a lot of scientific researches on semantic relations in world languages, in particular, the study of the status of graduality as a general linguistic phenomenon. Since gradation plays a special role in human cognitive activity, in determining the pragmatic aspect of speech acts, it is important to conduct a scientific research on the description of gradation, classification, peculiarities of expressions in non-relative languages. Particular attention is paid to the research aimed at revealing the similarities and differences of cognitive, semantic and pragmatic features of languages of different typological nature. The status of gradation is defined differently by linguists, …

The Phenomenon Of Orientalism In The Literature Of The Early English Romanticism (Xviii-Xix Centuries), Gulnoz Mamarasulova
Philology Matters
In the eighteenth century, English interest in exploring the Eastern world had increased tremendously. Orientalism was recognized as a cultural phenomenon and it had a great influence on architecture, gardening, art and literature as well. As for the poets and writers, the oriental environment created a different mood and new modes of expression that inspired them to compose works with the eastern motifs. The main contribution of Orientalism to English literature was a distraction of the poets’ mind from outdated ideas and filling it with fresh views.
In the first half of Romanticism, the authors portrayed bad manners that belonged …

Regular Algorithms For Adaptive Identification Of Linear Non-Stationary Systems, H.Z. Igamberdiyev, H.I. Sotvoldiev, U.F Mamirov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The article deals with the formation of regular algorithms for adaptive parametric spline identification of linear non-stationary systems. Analyzed the issues of constructing adaptive identification of continuous linear non-stationary systems with monotonic and sign-constant parameters. In this case, in a non-stationary system, the entire observation interval is in some way divided into sub-intervals. Identification is carried out at each of the parameter constancy intervals, while the parameter matrix is re-evaluated for the next interval. The input data of the system are determined with an error depending on the error of approximating the state of the system by splines and approximating …

The pH values were nearly neutral and high concentrations of calcium and fluoride ions were released. SEM showed …
Understanding The Negligence Question, Garo V. Moughalian
Understanding The Negligence Question, Garo V. Moughalian
Lincoln Memorial University Law Review Archive
There is currently an unsolved problem in the legal literature regarding the role cost-benefit analysis should play in determinations of breach in negligence cases. Additionally, despite extensive writings, the relationship between duty and breach in negligence cases remains unclear. At the core of the problem lies the inadequacy of our understanding of breach, which, currently established through a number of independent constructs, lacks a fundamental conceptual base. Further complicating matters is the limited study afforded the nature of the negligence cause of action itself, which leaves the element of duty on unsound footing. This article fills those gaps. With an …

You Are The Father! An Argument For Court-Ordered Prenatal Paternity Testing And Child Support In Tennessee, Michael Stooksbury
Lincoln Memorial University Law Review Archive
As long as the concept of monogamy has existed, humans have looked for ways to escape it. Children, a natural consequence of sexual activity, are often negatively affected by the lack of a supportive family structure in single-family households. To correct this, courts often order child support to be paid from one parent to another, usually through the State. This is why paternity determinations are an important court function. One aspect courts have neglected, however, is child support for expecting mothers during pregnancy. Prenatal child support for expecting mothers would help alleviate some of the prenatal costs and make the …

Regional Topological Aberrances Of White Matter- And Gray Matter-Based Functional Networks For Attention Processing May Foster Traumatic Brain Injury-Related Attention Deficits In Adults, Ziyan Wu, Meng Cao, Xin Di, Kai Wu, Yu Gao, Xiaobo Li
Publications and Research
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is highly prevalent in adults. TBI-related functional brain alterations have been linked with common post-TBI neurobehavioral sequelae, with unknown neural substrates. This study examined the systems-level functional brain alterations in white matter (WM) and gray matter (GM) for visual sustained-attention processing, and their interactions and contributions to post-TBI attention deficits. Task-based functional MRI data were collected from 42 adults with TBI and 43 group-matched normal controls (NCs), and analyzed using the graph theoretic technique. Global and nodal topological properties were calculated and compared between the two groups. Correlation analyses were conducted between the neuroimaging measures that …

Background: Hippocampal atrophy has been consistently reported in major depressive disorder with more recent focus on subfields. However, literature on hippocampal volume changes after antidepressant treatment has been limited. The first-line treatments for depression include antidepressant medication (ADM) or cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT). To understand the differential effects of CBT and ADM on the hippocampus, we investigated the volume alterations of hippocampal subfields with treatment, outcome, and chronicity in treatment-naïve depression patients. Methods: Treatment-naïve depressed patients from the PReDICT study were included in this analysis. A total of 172 patients who completed 12 weeks of randomized treatment with CBT (n …
