The goal of this study was to explore the status of Online Reference Services in the university libraries of Lahore, Pakistan. A quantitative method followed by a survey research design was adopted to gather the required data. The population of the study was all the public and private sector universities of Lahore. The paper highlighted the concepts of information age and knowledge society and their implication for libraries. Basic concepts such as information and knowledge society were defined. A brief historical role of information and knowledge from the pre-historic period to modern concepts or information and knowledge society were examined. Abstract
This bibliometric study set out to evaluate and analyze highly cited papers in Library and Information Science field (LIS) in the Web of Science database from 1983 to 2018. In this bibliometric study, the required data were extracted from the Web of Science database. First, all documents under the rubric of LIS subject area, including 366,756 documents, were retrieved. The search was then limited to the highly cited papers. Of these papers, 433 ones were in the top-1% percentile rank. The present bibliometric study of the Health Information and Libraries Journal was conducted using Web of Science SCIE. Total 727 documents retrieved including 481 articles, 7 early access articles, 3 proceedings papers, 25 bibliography and related items, 10 book reviews, 8 article corrections, 130 editorial materials, and 63 reviews. The outcome parameters were the number of publications, citations, top countries, authors, organizations/institutions, and citation analysis, impact factor, most frequent author keywords were presented as visualization map, etc.

The study adopted descriptive survey research design using a sample of 600 students sampled from Awgu and Udi Education Zones of Enugu State as sample. The instrument for data collection was a researcher developed instrument titled Empowering Senior Secondary Students for Self-Reliance and job creation through Library and Information Science Entrepreneurship Education in the pandemic era. Different studies have shown that students perform poorly in English grammar. Thus, the study investigated the effect of Library and Information Science Integrated Language Teaching Approach on students’ achievement in English grammar. The achievement of students taught with ILTA were compared with those of students taught with the Form Based Approach (FAB). A quasi-experimental design was adopted. The present study depicts the growth of literature on electronic resources. In this regard, 2274 publications were collected from the Web of Science database from 1989 to 2018. The study attempts to measure year-wise and five-year block-wise distribution of publications using relative growth rate and doubling time, collaborative index, collaborative co-efficiency, and degree of collaboration. The highest number of publications, i.e., 472, was published in the 6th block 2014-2018. The sole author-produced 56.42% (1283) of the total publications, and double authors posted 19.48% (443). The use of different bibliometric indicators to analyze the individual scientific production of researchers constantly raises questions among several authors. Based on this problem, Waltman, Van Eck and Wouters (2013) propose a methodology that values highly cited papers (high impact) over low cited papers (low impact). The study presents the comprehensive assessment of the Indian Institutions of National Importance (IoNI) website’s privacy and security practices. These 130 IoNI websites were selected because of the status conferred to premier institutions by the Government of India. This empirical study was based on webometric methods that assessed the quantitative aspects of information technologies structures on the web. The study also employed content analysis for analyzing the sites privacy policies. The present paper examines the existence of electronic resources and services by the faculty members and students of Pre - University Colleges in Bengaluru city, Karnataka. The study also highlights different types of electronic resources used by faculty and students , purposes and frequency of using e - resources and problem faced by the students while accessing and using the e -resources in the colleges The survey was conducted through a structured questionnaire distributed among 510 students and faculty members, out of which 431 dully filled in questionnaires were received back giving an overall response rate of 84.50% per cent. …
