A Lexical Approach To Collective Personality Using Nongroup Members As Raters, Robert Cameron Black Jan 2021

A Lexical Approach To Collective Personality Using Nongroup Members As Raters, Robert Cameron Black

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

The construct of personality exhibits utility in predicting group outcomes. However, quantifying a group personality construct has almost exclusively been accomplished by aggregating individual group member five-factor personality scores to derive the group personality score. This type of operationalizing rests on the assumption that collective personality exists and has a five-factor structure, makes results context specific, and limits cross-comparison of different types of groups. The purpose of this quantitative study was to apply a lexical approach and exploratory factor analysis to explore personality structure of a group at a group level. The research question focused on identifying if a construct …

The purpose of this study was to discover if a relationship exists between PI and improved reading scores of middle school students with ASD. The study included parents of 27 middle school students with autism. Thorndike’s stimulus-response theory on the transfer of learning provided …

The purpose of this doctoral project was to address the significant gap in practice that is made evident in the nursing leadership due to a lack of onboarding process which has led to a 62% turnover rate of the novice LPNs. The theories and models used to inform the doctoral project included …

The Use Of Vocational Services By Formerly Incarcerated Citizens Who Obtained Employment, Marianne Gonta

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Almost 2.3 million people are incarcerated in correctional facilities across the United States. More than 95% of this population will be released to return to society at some time. People returning from prison can be at a disadvantage as they compete for work. They might be challenged by known barriers to employment, like restrictions on work opportunities and powerful stigma, resulting in a social problem. While some correctional facilities provide vocational services, 75% or more of citizens returning to U.S. communities from prison cannot obtain sustainable wage employment. Yet, it appears there is little research illuminating the pathways used by …

An Educational Intervention To Reduce Central Venous Catheter Infection Rates, Bolanle Olajuyigbe Jan 2021

An Educational Intervention To Reduce Central Venous Catheter Infection Rates, Bolanle Olajuyigbe

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

AbstractCentral venous catheters (CVC) are essential in both critical and noncritical care settings. Despite benefits such as the administration of medications, blood products, and parenteral nutrition, CVCs are also associated with infections known as central–line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI). Linked to knowledge deficit and noncompliance in following evidence-based care bundles by nurses, it is important that nurses are empowered through education to provide quality care to reduce CLABSI rates. Thus, a staff education program was developed to answer the practice-focus question: if an organized education program increases the knowledge of medical-surgical nurses on central line care and management procedures …

Previous research has not established a connection between PD and CKD although both diseases share common inflammatory markers. The focus of this cross-sectional, quantitative study was the possible impact of PD on the HRQoL of the CKD patient and the extent to which a less than optimal …

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

AbstractThe aging population in the United States continues to grow and, along with it, the need for informal caregivers.
