Cutaneous Horn On The Right Supraclavicular Region In An Adolescent Female, A Rare Case Report, Rohit Gupta, Manoj Kumar, Ruchi Sinha, Reva Shankar Sahu
The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery
Cutaneous horn (CH) is an outgrowth from the skin surface, composed of keratin, and associated with benign to malignant skin lesions. We report a case of CH in a 15-year-old female associated with Keratoacanthoma. It is uncommon in young people and is associated with a good prognosis because of its benign nature. This case needs to be reported as it highlights the rare occurrence of this condition in the younger age group and its good prognosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice, with histopathologic diagnosis playing a critical role in determining the nature and further treatment of this condition …

Malondialdehyde (MDA) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were measured according to the spectrophotometric method in breast milk samples. Nesfatin and irisin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
Results: Levels of nesfatin-1 and MDA of the smoking group were significantly higher than …

Asian Medical Journal and Alternative Medicine
Introduction: Lom-Am-Ma-Preuk (LAP) remedy is a herbal remedy in Traditional Thai Medicine scripture and is on the National List of Essential Medicine in Thailand. Many herbal ingredients of LAP have significant inhibitory activity against the production of inflammatory mediators. The aim of this current study was to investigate forced degradation of extracts by heat, moisture, oxidation, and acid hydrolysis. The effects of these degradations were determined by anti-inflammatory activity and chemical content analysis of the LAP extract. The identified chemical markers including eugenol, myristicin, and piperine were compared amongst the remedies.
Methods: Antiinflammatory activity was determined by an inhibitory effect …

Journal of Indonesian Tourism and Policy Studies
The tourism sector can be one of the mainstay sectors in the economic growth of the Dieng Plateau. One of the tourism problems in the Dieng Plateau is about accessibility and supporting infrastructure. Even though the existing road infrastructure is quite good, it can be improved again by widening the road access so that even large vehicles can easily cross it and needs to be improved also for other infrastructure such as hotels, restaurants, promotions, and others. The number of folklore or history in the Dieng area is the main factor to attract tourists and is also supported by beautiful …

Urology Articles
Enzalutamide, a second-generation antiandrogen, is commonly prescribed for the therapy of advanced prostate cancer, but enzalutamide-resistant, lethal, or incurable disease invariably develops. To understand the molecular mechanism(s) behind enzalutamide resistance, here, we comprehensively analyzed a range of prostate tumors and clinically relevant models by gene expression array, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot, which revealed that enzalutamide-resistant prostate cancer cells and tumors overexpress the pseudokinase, Tribbles 2 (TRIB2). Inhibition of TRIB2 decreases the viability of enzalutamide-resistant prostate cancer cells, suggesting a critical role of TRIB2 in these cells. Moreover, the overexpression of TRIB2 confers resistance in prostate cancer cells to clinically relevant …

Phonological Rules In English And Arabic: A Comparative Study, Fadhil Athab Atshan Al-Juborry
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
This study sheds light on the relationship between phonological representation of words, phrases and forms, and their phonetic output by means of phonetic rules as proposed by Noam Chomsky and Halle (1968) with regard to phonological rules which are approached mathematically via notations. This practice, which is embodied visually in this paper, is more effective than rule statements so that the reader can get acquainted with the mechanisms these rules follow in order to activate the phonological images stored in the mind in conjunction with their phonetic perception.

Depression affects over 17 million American adults yearly and has been identified as the leading cause of disability in people between the ages of 15 and 44 years. There is evidence that feeling neglect or a lack of parental attachment during childhood is associated with depression. One construct that has been overlooked is love from a parent. The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between individuals who felt not wanted/loved during adolescence and lifetime depression and to examine this association by gender. We examined 5114 participants aged 24–32 years at Wave IV of the National Longitudinal Study …

Drawing from the experiences of other jurisdictions …
Do You Know It When You See It? Using Alaska's Child Pornography Statute As A Nationwide Model For Proscribing Morphed Images, Daisy Gray
Alaska Law Review
In 1982, the United States Supreme Court addressed the tension between free speech and protecting children by holding child pornography outside the scope of First Amendment protections. Critical to the Court’s decision was the fact that child sexual abuse is necessary to produce child pornography. But what if technological advancement removed child abuse from the equation? The recent phenomena of virtual child pornography and morphed images involve the digital alteration of adult pornography to create the appearance of child pornography. The Alaska legislature amended its child pornography statute in response to these developments, proscribing the possession of morphed images. While …

A Review Of Rice Tariffication In The Time Of Covid-19: Rationale And Road To Rice Self-Sufficiency In The Philippines, David Michael M. San Juan
Asia-Pacific Social Science Review
The Philippine government passed the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL) in 2019, despite a strong and united peasant opposition to rice industry liberalization, which the RTL facilitates and further accelerates. Amid falling Filipino farmers’ incomes due to the deluge of imported rice, negligible milled rice price decreases for consumers, rising rice prices globally, and in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic that has already disrupted food supplies and is poised to cause continuing instability in the price of imports, this paper is aimed at reviewing recent rice tariffication policy literature. Such review will be a springboard in making a case in …

Contested Representations Of Agent Orange’S Destruction In Vu Le My’S Where War Has Passed And Masako Sakata’S Agent Orange: A Personal Requiem, Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang
Asia-Pacific Social Science Review
This study examines two documentaries on the impact of Agent Orange in post-war Vietnam: Where War Has Passed (1997), by the Vietnamese director Vu Le My and Agent Orange: A Personal Requiem (2007), by Japanese director Masako Sakata. In order to depict the destructiveness of Agent Orange, these directors focus exclusively neither on the footprints of war in Vietnam’s physical landscape nor the sufferings of Vietnamese victims. By highlighting the existence of Agent Orange victims in the landscape that was once the target of a series of American spraying missions, both documentaries urge the audience to remove the boundaries between …
