Arabic Document Image Classification Using Neural Networks., Abdallah Al-Khorabi, Mohamed Mansour

The Neural Network Arabic Document Image Classification System (NNADICS) is an adaptive Arabic document classifier. By training NNADICS on a number of different document image types, NNADICS behaves as a multiple classifier, since it is capable for distinguishing between multiple document image types. NNADICS is designed, built, tested and evaluated. After training NNADICS a document image is applied to the system for classification. Before that the document image is scanned, pre-processed and binarized, and then applied to NNADICS to classify its contents to text, geometric, or photographic image type. Condensation process, from moist airflow over flat plate, is investigated theoretically and experimentally. This process has many important engineering applications, which are concerning with moist air treatment. In The theoretical analysis of the present work, the flow is assumed to be laminar, steady and of constant physical properties. The process is described by continuity, momentum, energy and concentration partial differential equations expressed in Cartesian coordinates system. This project report describes climate assessment activities in support of the development of a college-level diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) action plan. Elements of the climate assessment activities are described along with their purpose and rationale for inclusion. According to Census Bureau information, the majority of Americans with hearing loss are of working age. Historically, minimal resources have been allocated for the habilitation/ rehabilitation of hearing loss which may affect the employment status of a significant number of individuals. Collaboration between the audiologist and other rehabilitation professionals is discussed and a functional occupational communication assessment is described. A description of assistive technology with practical applications is provided.

Mental Health Programs Serving Deaf And Hard Of Hearing Adults, Caroline J. Kendall, Virginia Gutman, Robert Rosenheck

Few studieshaveinvestigatedmentalhealthservicesspecificallyservingdeafand hard of hearing people. This study summarizes data reported by 40 specialized mental health programs for deaf and hard of hearing adults in the United States between 2001-2003. Deaf programs within larger mental health organizations were significantly more likely to serve clients diagnosed with a psychotic disorder. These integrated service programs were less likely to serve clients who are Caucasian and those who pay for services using private insurance. Integrated programs serve clients with more serious psychiatric disorders. Further comparisons of medical records, service quality, and outcomes are needed.

This study aims to review the implementation of functional requirements of electronic records management systems (ERMS) at the best Indonesian academic archive (LKPT), from the perspective of archivists and ERMS developers. This instrumental case study was conducted at three of the best academic archives in Indonesia using a checklist; the resulting data were examined and presented qualitatively. The findings show that the ERMS developed by LKPTs do not meet international functional standards, due to LKPTs and internal units are unprepared to implement the ERMS provided by the national archives. Oral appliances have gained their place in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) where custom-made titratable mandibular advancement devices (MAD) have become the oral appliance of choice. This study aimed to asses the value of the drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) using a MAD in the prediction of treatment outcome for OSAHS

This is a prospective, single-center cohort study that enrolled sixty-six consecutive patients with diagnosed OSA (5 events/h < apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) < 50 events/h) to be treated with a custom-made titratable MAD. The patients were evaluated polysomnographically with the MAD in situ after the adaptation and titration period of 3 months. The associations between findings during DISE and treatment outcome were assessed.

The subjects showed a wide range of severity of OSAHS pre-treatment: median AHI was 43.10 with a range from 20.13 to 66.07. The simulation bite was associated with a significant increase …
